Which Amazon should Australians use for their purchases?

If an Australian wants to buy something from Amazon would it be better to use .com or .co.uk for their purchase? Or is there another Amazon closer to Australia?

Have you tried looking for what you want on amazon.com then searching Australian online stores for the same product? It might not be the same price but you would save on postage costs.
