My immediate thought was “Those homophobes are going to have a fit!”.
Indifference. Oh and why doesn’t that lady wash her feet?
What kind of yogurt Is that? Mt very first reaction is that why is that beautiful girl doing with the older woman that she is clearly out of her league.
They look serene and happy. They obviously haven’t heard about the bubble wrap.
Beautiful ad, but doesn’t talk about the pollution of Chobani Greek yogurt.
My reaction was, “Aw.”. It’s a step in the right direction.
I agree with what @ragingloli said the homophobes are going to blow a gasket, but for the rest of us it was a nicely done commercial.
I can’t help but notice that it doesn’t really address gay relationships as much as feed in to men’s fantasy of woman on woman….oh and smear that yogurt there! Can I watch??!
I thought it was a nice loving commercial. That it was two women only came to mind when I read the answers here.
It’s an advert. They want it to startle so their product will benefit from the attention that results. Presumably it will be good for sales.
I have a question….what do you think the sales would have done if it had been two men instead of two women?
I thought they should also do the commercial with two equally hot guys. What would be wrong with that?
slurping the yoghurt would have a whole other subtext.
If you know what I mean.
The yogurt itself was a suggestive subtext, @ragingloli.
Sex sells and naked women are always a draw.
What does yogurt have to do with half nakedness?
@Apparently_Im_The_Grumpy_One the same thing ,Beer, cars, cigarets,do answer nothing but a half naked women gets mens attention.
And as @Jaxk stated, sex sells. doesn’t matter what the product is put a half naked pretty woman in the shot and at least the men will pay attention.
I keep hoping for the day when this sort of commercial isn’t considered noteworthy; when people are just people.
I thought it was excellent. The assumption that most viewers would make, which in the beginning the shadowy shoulder suggests, was that her partner was male. Even the dirty foot suggests the gender (tell me guys are not more likely than gals to go to bed with dirty feet).
The twist at the end is a pleasant surprise. Disregard all those whose visceral response to same sex partners is revulsion—that is their problem; their boycott of this brand will have minimal impact on sales. The ad gives the feelings of affection and sensuality before the partner is revealed. I think that it is designed to appeal to women. While some men and women will find it erotic, I doubt that sales of yogurt to men will increase.
I’m well aware of why they were using half nakedness but you asked for initial thoughts. That was mine.
It’s just yogurt. It’s a pet peeve of mine when they market this way. That’s why I don’t have cable.
Looks like a nice place to hang out, and the yogurt didn’t seem to have a lot to do with it, except I suppose they’re suggesting that the people who seek out cool places also seek out good yogurt…
As far as the implied sexuality, I noticed that it left room for a fellow to imagine he was the guy on the beach and they were all in bed together the night before.
And ya, LOL at homophobes freakin’ out! :-P
