I think it was actually on the second of this month.. No clue about the age.I will guess and go with around 200 years old.
I consider being Canadian cheating.
@johnpowell Weeeeell maybe on this question it might be. :)
I know it’s July 1 because a Canadian told me so last week.
I would have guessed 1869. I see I’m wrong, but close!
But the current flag dates from 1967
I too have friends in Halifax and Newfoundland, so have known about your incorrect first of July and that October Thanksgiving.
@stanleybmanly Winter comes early here, so we have to move these things up a bit. ;)
@dappled_leaves you and I might not agree on much, but I do love that answer. THANKS
I changed my answer to go with the spirit of the question.
I remember you told me July first. I think 173 years, but I am very forgetful.
@Dutchess_III Really? can you prove that? Or do we have to prove it does?
And don’t be that sore about 1812 just because we won.
@Dutchess_III oh typical you didn’t win so just forget about it, oh well.
Oh, @Dutchess_III , that is in the future, remember? It was revealed in Meet The Robinsons. In the near future Canada would become North Montana. Don’t tell @SQUEEKY2 though. There is no telling how he will react.
Why not North Kansas?? I want him to live in my state.
My dad used to have an LP of “The War of 1812.” Lots of cannon noises.
@Dutchess_III My hope is that the rest of you will forget about the existence of the place after I’m safely ensconced there and clamoring with my fellow Canooks to close our Southern border to the hoardes of destitute immigrants seeking jobs in my wonderful country. “the TRUE North brave and free”.
Canada Day is July First, but Canada is on the Gregorian Calendar as the US is, so their July 4th is 4 July. They’ve been around as a semi-autonomous country for about 150 years, give r take a year or two.
But…but…but….we like Canada!
@Dutchess_III We like you, too… but no invasions, please. Or else.
Last I knew Canada used the same calendar as the rest of the Western world and the fourth of July fell between the third and the fifth.~
But we want you! We especially want your health care system….
@Dutchess_III You can’t have our health care system. You have to get your own. I’m sorry.
Well we do enjoy exporting our cigarettes your way.
Same day as ours.
Their March 6th is also the dame as ours, as is every other day of the year.
@filmfann our calendar dates might be the same ,but our countries birthdays are definitely two different dates.
I learned that July 1st is Canada Day, but just this week. No idea how old Canada is.
Can you tell me Germany’s national day and its age?
Canada is the only foreign country to successfully sack the US capital and capture its flag, so far.
Canada’s 4th of July is 4th of July. If you want to know when it’s independence day is, then, I’d have to google that one. I should know. My mother’s French ancestors were in Canada when it was just a tiny fur trading spot in the 1700’s. I should also speak the language, but it was shamefully lost.
Well, Bing said, the 1st of July.
@longgone
Germany’s reunification day is on the 3rd of October.
I always thought of Canadian’s as pacifists. But apparently you guys are mean!
Nice way to teach us US Citizens about our neighbor to the north.
But Canada has only been a country for 33 years? Before that it was a Dominion?
You Americans talk about your county being so old but you were only 13 states back then. Maybe you should count from your last addition.
@cazzie Most people I know consider the U.S. a young country.
We consider ourselves young, too.
Well, I guess I can say that the Norwegians were never Vikings, then. Never raped and pillaged.
Friday 13th coz dem fookers are aboot as shady as a dawg wiv two dicks.
I thought the 4th of July in Canada is the 4th of July, just like it is anywhere else in the world.
It is, but they’re Canuks, so it’s on July 1st. I can’t believe we lost that war.
two digged dock dicked dog? Sign me up!
@osoraro I am referring to Canada’s birthday, like the 4th of July is the USAs, ours is July1st as for the calendar dates yes it is the same as everywhere else.
