Can the Fluther mods see who gives someone a GA?
Title pretty much sums up my question.

I guess they can, because I’ve read about people with multiple accounts being banned for self-lurving.
At one point the mods could see who gave great question and great answer lurve on every thread, but unless it has changed since I was a mod, they can’t see it anymore. They can see who has given each person lurve but not what they gave the lurve for. So they can tell who I lurve the most and who lurves me the most, that’s how they find people gaming the lurve system.
What @FlyingWolf said is still the case. We gave up that feature many years ago, and good riddance. it was rarely useful, and made for a cluttered interface.
Worst of all, it detracted from our own Fluther experience. There’s a very good reason behind the anonymity of the lurve system: knowing who does and doesn’t give you lurve changes the social dynamic, and not for the better. I suppose everyone is curious at times about who GAs whom, but believe me, we’re all better off not knowing.
@DrasticDreamer Thanks for asking this question – I’ve been wondering this for a long time.
@dappled_leaves Yeah, you’re welcome. I’m not even sure what made me think to ask, it was just kind of there last night.
But like @thorninmud says, once I asked, I was curious for some of the reasons they brought up. It couldn’t have been pleasant before they got rid of that, for multiple reasons. I definitely think that people are better off not knowing, no question.
Anonymous donations are certainly more fun.
I’m the Jelly that drops random GAs on unpopular answers. I usually have a Great Answer for anyone who argues with/insults me.
I do it because, Godammit I care.
