Can someone personally recommend a showerhead I do not have to keep replacing yearly?

All shower heads today seem to have a plastic connection that always breaks. Even if I make sure to buy a metal shower-head, the connection is always crap and within a short time will crack and break. Yesterday our 3rd shower head broke in a span of almost 3 year. My husband does not like the conservative shower-heads. I would like one with a hose attached because it is easier to rinse the tub out and wash the dog.

Best that you visit your local (big) home improvement store and ask there. And use a little thread sealing tape when you install. Don’t over-tighten!
I’m a showerhead fantatic and have tried countless models. This Waterpik model is the one I finally settled on and have been using it for years. Love it. I think it’s what you’re looking for.
Another idea is to call Costco and explain your problem. If they don’t have one in stock, I’d bet you can purchase it online through them. They have an unquestioning money-back guarantee. If it breaks, you bring it back, with or without a receipt. And I can’t imagine them carrying something that would break easily.
With so many options available, it becomes overwhelming when making a choice. Since durability is an important factor, the best bet is to go with a reputable brand like Waterpik, Moen, Delta and Kohler.
Here is a blog from someone who took the time to do extensive research, including reading up on product reviews. The top pick is a Delta product. It’s made from chrome plated brass with a metal hose, which means it’s going to last longer than plastic. In your case, the downside may be that it is heavier than desired when juggling the spray and a squirmy dog.
I’m not sure I want to share my shower with the dog. Try a good plumbing supply shop, not the box stores.
@Adirondackwannabe I don’t take a shower with the dog. Plus she’s an indoor dog and when outside she doesn’t like to get dirty. Avoids puddles and laying on the grass. She even lays on my lounge chairs when she wants to be out a bit to catch some rays. LOL
I don’t know about replacement, I have never had to replace a shower head. Typically I have Moen, but Kohler should be good too. I recently had a Waterpik in a hotel and was sure to look at the brand because I loved how the shower felt.
Each brand probably has different levels of quality. The key might be which store you shop in. Lower end stores will have less expensive options with some cheaper parts.
Maybe you need a water softener instead? I’ve only had to replace 1 shower head in the last 20 years.
Usually the water softner helps with the water holes getting blocked up, not a small part breaking. Unless I misunderstood what the OP is talking about. It’s true hard water is very damaging to the pipes, and one of the most obvious places the water is hard (besides how the water feels) is the shower head. Also, white left behind in the dishwasher and a hard ring around the toilet bowl.
@cheebdragon Yeah, it has more to do with the fact that its hard to buy a true metal shower-head theses days. Some say they are metal, but it is only the face of the shower head. The rest is cheap plastic that will break if dropped or sometimes just come apart at connection seams. It’s like water hoses today. Few last a long time unless you buy one with metal ends. I kept buying the latest in water hoses and the plastic connections would come apart at the seams. So I went back to the old try and true water hose. Sure they are heavy and a bit bothersome to roll up but it won’t break on me in the middle of using it or spray water all over me.
@Pandora Laughs I Know you don’t shower with the dog. We did the same thing with our St Bernard. Not shower together but put her in the tub. She loved it.
