Where can I find free, non-copy written music?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47127points) July 21st, 2015

I have a cute, short video of one of my grand daughters, who is planning to follow in Evel Knievel’s steps. She scares the shit out of me.
Anyway, I added circus music to the video, and it was perfect. But, when I tried to post it on FB, FB yelled “NO!!! PARTS OF THIS VIDEO ARE COPY WRITTEN!!!”
So I stripped the music off and reposted.

So…where can I find music I can use legally?

This site should be perfect for you. I use it for my own videos.

@Pachy This site did not work. It kept trying to get me to download a pdf program.

I think I got it….

@Bill1939, check that url again. It goes right to the site. You don’t need to download PDF anything.

I found one..but I don’t know where it saved it. How can a specify a folder to save it to?

@Bill1939 Ignore the “donate” to the right.
Select 1 from the left list (I choose ‘unclassifiable’)
Then select 1 from the right list (I choose ‘Bouncy’)
Then “search,” at the bottom of the right list .
After everything flickers, it will come up with some suggestions under the two lists.
I chose ‘Wagon Wheel.’

It should save automatically to your desktop.

I don’t know if you use any kind of audio editing software, but if not, you may want to download a terrific program called Audacity, which is totally free and perfect for editing music files. It’ll come in very handy for editing music for your videos. Say, for example, there’s only a portion of the music track you want, or you want it to repeat, or whatever—you can load the original track into Audacity and edit then save it very easily.

Send me a IM if you want more info or any help.

I will Pachy!
And I found the file in some folder called “My downloads.” I moved it to my music file.

How can I uncheck a Genre? I click on it to uncheck it, but nothing happens.

Pachy's avatar

Mmmm, on my Mac all I have to do after clicking any genre is click on _another _ genre to select that one. For me there’s no checking and unchecking.

“My Downloads” tells me you’re on a PC. That folder can be changed in your settings, I’m pretty sure.

Well, it looks like when I check another genre the new one and the old one are still ghosted blue. I click a 3rd, and all 3 are ghosted blue.

Click any genre and that’s the genre you’ve got until you click on another one. They do gray put when clicked and stay gray no matter how many you click.

Ok, that’s what I’m learning. Thanks so much!
