And lets not get started with I woke up on the right side of the flowers today.
I mean real positive things, that you didn’t expect maybe even renewed your faith in mankind type thing.

I have been told I always post negative type questions about negative type people, and told to look at things a little brighter and that is what I am trying to do with this question,so I hope a few can show me the positive side of things.
I with @rockfan . Today sucked. No way I can have faith in mankind with the assholes I encountered today.
I had dounuts and beef ribs today.
@SQUEEKY2 – Please don’t take this as an attack, but you seem to be spinning out. Many of us have been there, and it’s no picnic. Rather than us try to convince you that life isn’t just a heap of garbage, maybe you could talk to someone (professionally). You may be able to find out what is really bothering you.
My faith in mankind doesn’t need renewing. I know we all do as much as we can, and if I was in someone else’s place, I’d be acting just like them.
Still, though, I’ll play:
+ My puppy goes all soft and happy every time I pick him up
+ I got a text from my little sister, who is on holiday, and feel assured that she’s happy
+ I re-connected with an old friend whom I hadn’t spoken to for a while
I’m not sure this exercise will help you, though. You need to find positive things in your life, and I can’t guess at what these might be. Do you feel you are being excessively negative?
My brother brought me corn on the cob from his garden.
That’s all I got for today.
@longgone ,and @DoNotKnow I have had stupid people go out of their way to do stupid things in my face, one is driving I am getting to a point if I see one more idiot texting and driving I will just push them off the road so everyone else will be safe.
Or just having to be in front then to slow down and drive slower than I was, makes me want shove them off a cliff to their doom as well.
I know there will always be crappy drivers but do they have to prove they are crappy every freaking day?
@SQUEEKY2 Hm. I know that when I get frustrated at other people’s “stupidity”, it helps to imagine where said stupidity comes from. Where do you think these people have acquired their [lack of] driving skills? Can you think of any scenario in which their “stupidity” is their fault?
@SQUEEKY2 – Everyone – including you and me – will have a handful of moments on the road where we screw up. We’ll be the “idiot” to someone. The odds are, that since we all have a few of these moments in our life, you will not be able to drive anywhere without sharing the road with someone have one of their moments. It’s inevitable.
But you drive for a living, correct? You’re voluntarily exposing yourself to many hours of people having their screw-up moments in your presence. It seems to me that you have a couple of choices: A) find an office job that you can walk to, or B) find a way of looking at your experience in a way that doesn’t cause you to suffer.
If you decide to go with (B), you could start with the fact that you’re probably just seeing the rare driving screwups, and that these people are generally decent drivers. Then, you try to nurture some compassion (see my response here). Seeing drivers as people can go a long way in alleviating your suffering.
But if you really are committed to the belief that everyone else in the world is suffering from imperfection – and that you are not – then you are dedicating yourself to a life of extreme pain.
You have to be kidding. I pull into an intersection and I’m turning right and I have the green and the right of way. Some asshole chops me off with a left turn as I’m in the intersection. I hit the brakes and avoid the first moron. I’m going up the highway behind moron, and some other moron decides there is plenty of room to pull out in front of me. I’m thinking are the idiots are out in force today. People suck.
We must remember we are descended from apes. Some of us have a few more generations in between there than others. Give them a break. Their great great great great great great grandchildren will be much more evolved, I hope.

Maybe this will cheer you up. I hope so.
Got a new pillow today. It’s fat and soft. May not seem like much to most people, but to me, pilows kick ass. It’s worth two things for me! :D
I cuddled with my cat and made blackberry pie.
I reached 5K, and jellies have been quite warm with their greetings and well wishes today. It feels very good.
Now if I could get a real good mud wrestle with a jelly who can take it, my day would be complete.
I never did mind the cold anyway!
I had a great workout today.
I took a disabled veteran shopping.
Mankind is a wonderful thing.
Was a really positive day, but I have no interest in sharing it here, on this thread.
Would be wasted, i’m satisfied that I shared it with people that matter to me anyway.
I got to speak with my doctor the first time I rang this morning plus my neighbour said that she would collect something from the pharmacy for me. Both instances were simply a case of good timing, telephoning at the right moment/on the right day. It is still only 12.30 p.m. so there are a lot of hours left in the day……
After two days of torrential rains I woke up (late) today to a beautiful morning! Blue skies, sunshine, green lawns, and in the upper 70’s. Heated up to the 80’s later on. We went to McDonald’s for a late lunch, which feels like vacation to me since we almost never go to fast food, except for when we are on the road. Tonight, I made Paella, and my husband loved it! Which made me very happy. Just 20 minutes ago my husband turned on the Mexico Jamaica soccer game, and it cracked me up when he perked up and starting waving his arms like a conductor as he listened to the MX national anthem. It was a good Sunday.
I kissed my wife, went mountain biking on my new ride, now on beer #5. Tomorrow I start my new job.
I want to cuddle with @Symbeline and her pillow, or mud wrestle with @Here2_4. I wonder if I could combine the two. That’d be an interesting threesome.
Pillow fight mud wrestling? Sounds kind of like a contemporary tar and feathering.
Step aside ya’ll, I think I may have a taker, yes, it seems there may be some slinging and wrestling over the Trump issue!
Yes, I was visiting with my best friend this morning and spent the afternoon with my son. And I found a great place to stay.
@Here2_4 Well I’m thinking I’d have to buy @Symbeline a new pillow, but hell, that sounds like fun. Reminds me of Stripes.
I didn’t exactly mean wrestling in a literal sense, but over issues.
Laughs, I said I’d get you a new one. But come on, a guy just wants to have fun.
No mud wrestling bummer. We could do the mud wrestling while debating.
Okay, I’ll bite. What issues?
Oh, pick one, pick a side, and lets roll. I’m in research mode this evening.
Alex, I’ll take National Geographic for one thousand.
I got to spend the afternoon and dinner with my girlfriend and her daughter while they house hunt in the SF Bay Area.
There were a lot of smile exchanged when I ran four miles at the local reservoir today.
I got to send my daily gratitude list to a friend.
And I watched the end of the Tour de France, another year of great racing.
I harvested boatloads of huge, juicy, ripe blackberries from the wall of berry brambles in the lower pasture here this morning, and I enjoyed a nice compliment from a friend.
1/ I asked a question here and it has helped me a lot with my writing.
2/ With the information I got from the question, I could get my story back to the flow. No more procrastinating.
I’m surrounded by good deeds every day. Most strangers are kind to me because I smile and acknowledge their existence.
My loved ones show me every day how much they love me.
I admitted to someone that I saw them as something akin to a friend.
I accept that I do hold genuine feelings for my significant other.
1. I went to an awesome flea market.
2. On the way there I saw a crowd of people, so went to take a look at what it was and ended up walking around at a festival.
@longgone ,yeah their parents were closely related.
@SQUEEKY2 I asked, “Can you think of any scenario in which their “stupidity” is their fault?”
I realize you’re not being serious when claiming “their parents were closely related”, but you’re raising a good point. How is a person’s genetic level of intelligence their fault?
I know less about driving than you do. Should you look down on me because of that? You have less experience with kids than I have. Does that mean I can look down on you?
I spent time with an elderly gentleman who I have never met previously but definitely hope to spend time with again.
I managed to pay a debt that has been concerning me for a few weeks now.
Actually a few good things did happen.
I signed the lease for a new apartment. My roommate and I had been looking for a super long time and I was worried that my credit wouldn’t be good enough. (This is my first time actually being ON the lease.) Life achievement unlocked!
I made plans to hang out with a new friend, this cool artsy girl who I met yesterday at a bar
For the first time IN MY LIFE I summoned the courage to go to a meetup. It was a small writing group with 4 other people. I got some writing done, had a good time, and will go back next week. The venue had really delicious iced mint tea. Afterward I went for an evening walk at the downtown waterfront and saw a bunch of moonflowers.
My roommate’s cat has started hiding in my room and grudgingly let me pick him up a few times today. :)
