I saw this today in the NY Times obits section. I was speculating with my coworker why someone would die of pneumonia at such a relatively young age.
When I was little, that song was very popular.
I don’t understand why the news wasn’t disseminated sooner, @jca.
I have C&W on in the kitchen 24/7 and I’ve still never heard mention of her death there.
“Rose Garden” was a huge crossover hit that everyone of er ‘our generation’ should know.
Wiki quote: “Anderson died on July 30, 2015 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee from a heart attack at the age of 67. She had been hospitalized due to pneumonia after a trip to Italy.” to reconcile cause of death.
Her “Rose Garden” hit was a crossover, so it appeared on the pop charts, at a time when country was still lumped with rock and roll. Sweet voice, very emotional.
RIP Lynn Anderson.
Hey…you never know when your numbers up, a lot of people die in their 60’s. A close friend of mine just lost her BIL to bone cancer a few weeks ago, he was only 61. Cancer and heart disease run rampant in ones 60’s. Pneumonia can hit anyone too, viral or bacterial, sometimes it comes from a lingering virus, and is also another condition that is more prevalent in older people.
I mowed a couple acres this evening with “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” playing in my head. There’s no wonder it was a crossover hit.
“I beg your pardon” Politeness
I never promised you a Rose Garden. Reality
Iconic song.
Along with the sunshine
There has to be a little rain sometimes.
RIP Ms. Anderson
