Most of Shakiras songs. Waka, waka, la, la, la, Loca, Hips don’t lie, Rabiosa, Whenever, wherever, La tortuga.
I cannot resist dancing to Moves like Jagger. Not because I think it’s a fabulous piece of music or anything. It’s just got great energy and it makes me want to dance and be happy. What song can’t you resist dancing to @dammitjanetfromvegas?
Any song that I have sung whilst in a musical (The Hot Mikado for example or Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dream-Coat, The wizard of Oz and Pirates of Penzance)
—-With cat-like tread upon our pray we steal, in silence dread, our cautious way we feel—
—-Follow the yellow-brick road, follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow-brick road—
—-Go-Go-Go Joseph you know what they say, Hang on now Joseph, you’ll make it someday, sha-la-la-la-la, you’re doing fine, you and your dreamcoat, ahead of your time—
—-I’m all alone! at the drive-in movie!—
—-I am so proud, if I allowed, my family pride to be my guide/ And the drums will crash, and the trumpet bray, and they’ll, cut a dash on their, wedding day—
Katy Perry.. All of them.
It’s a tie between “When I’m 64” sung by the Beatles and
“Movin’ Right Along” sung by Fozzie the Bear and Kernit
Just about all of the “Born to Run” album by Bruce, especially “Thunder Road.”
My favs aren’t good dance toons. Astronomy, Don’t Fear the Reaper, Lips of an Angel, etc
Best song ever by one direction lol
Gawd, so many.
Currently, I’ve been bopping to this tune by Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson.
Old time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger
@chyna You like Seger? Night Moves described my junior prom date perfectly.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I hate when I’m in public and I hear it. If a 3 year old busts out dancing spontaneously in the mall or the dentist waiting room or a restaurant it’s adorable. If a 61 year old woman does the same thing, authorities are swiftly called and children are removed from the vicinity.
It’s a drag.
I haven’t danced for years and don’t recall ever actually dancing to disco music—and this will date me horribly—but the songs that always made me want to dance were from “Saturday Night Fever”—especially “Disco Inferno.” As for romantic dancing, Sinatra’s ‘50’s slow-tempo stuff always got to me.
No way can I list just one!
-Another One Bites the Dust
-Old Time Rock and Roll
-Sussudio
-Jump Around
-Hey Ya
-The Impression That I Get, when the pep band I was in used to play it at a much faster tempo
-Dancing Machine (my most embarrassing robot attempt)
-Groove Is In the Heart
-Fergalicious
Too many to name. Just in an hour of Zumba there are about 14 songs. Can be anything from Shakira, Ricky Martin, to
Hava Nagila,
When I lived in Memphis they played a lot of great music in my supermarket. At times I was tapping my foot a little in the aisles. The manager must have been around my age. Old Pet Shop Boys, Bronski Beat, it was great.
At Christmas time Nutcracker makes me want to go find a ballet class. Especially the Chinese dance (tea) and the Spanish dance (chocolate).
@IheartMypuppy Yay! Another musical theater geek :) I am the same way. So many showtunes to name.
I also like a lot of 80s new wave, as that is the era of my youth. So, yeh, I can’t really pick songs out of that long list.
CCR Old Time rock and Roll and Long Cool Woman in a Black dress, and Give me Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Oh, also “Fame” by David Bowie. It makes me want to dance in very strange ways.
Dancing with Myself by Billy Idol!
“Maniac on the Floor” from Flashdance.
@canidmajor Wait another 15 years and you will be considered “adorable” doing it as well :)
@anniereborn, glad to know I’m not the only one, I have grown up with them,
my Gran (still) takes me to a Musical for my birthday present
I also love any ‘Marina and the Diamonds’ songs, she is so underrated, but she is awesome
I love to dance. I bought Xbox360 Kinect solely for my Just Dance games! ^-^ Right now my ultimate fave from Just Dance 4 is So What by Pink.
