I am planting a second crop of peas right now. We will have good weather in zone 5 until about mid Oct and they will have time to mature. I am in zone 5 as well! I planted my 2nd crop beans a couple weeks ago & they are in flower now!! Keep the gardening as long as you can. Swiss chard can be planted now as well as radish and lettuce. Enjoy your garden :)

Huh. I assumed my garden was done for the year in zone 5. This question prompted me to investigate, and I am actually in a a little pocket of warmer zone 6 because Chicago is next to Lake Michigan.

I found this blog which says peas, radishes, lettuce and arugula can be planted now.

I am going to get some radish seeds tomorrow, thank you for asking!
