How are you supposed to add topics to your Fluther profile?
I’ve been trying to use Fluther for about a month. I get no questions because I have no topics on my profile. The only invitation I see to add topics of interest to my profile is to click on the ‘Search for Topics’ link, which does nothing.
When I try to search for something, the message I get is a mildly insulting 404 message (e.g. You searched for Writing. Nice.)
I’m sure its something very basic I’m not doing—many of you have dozens of topics on your profile. I’d love to join in your discussions. Any help would be most welcome.

In the meantime, you can just use the tabs to browse all the questions. There aren’t that many any mor.
Or right now after you ask this question you can click on the topics below your question. There will be an “add topic” button for you.
If you’re on the “New Activity” page, scroll down and on the right is a huge list of “Popular Topics”. Hover over on any that interest you, and it will give you the option to add it.
Any time you see a brown topic button, you can hover over the button and it will give you the option to add or delete it, provided your options are fully enabled by your browser.
I’ve never added any topics to my profile and I get a huge list of “questions for you” which I ignore because I just go to each section and see what’s new.
There is an automatic feature built into Fluthet where it “learns” which topics to send you questions about based upon your participation over time.
The more questions in which you participate, the greater will be your list of “questions for you”.
Altho why anybody would want a longer list of “questions for you” is a mystery to me :)
You can also check out the topics on anyone’s profile and pick up topics!
