Suspend reality for a moment. Can you describe America after 8 years of Donald Trump as president?
What condition would our foreign policy be in? Putin, ISIS, Iran, North Korea, Cuba – where would we stand with them? Are their more or less troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are we out altogether, or is there a new war somewhere?
How are we doing in Europe?
Did he throw the illegal immigrants and “anchor baby” people out immediately? Did he build a fence on the border?
How is foreign trade doing?
Did he tax the fund managers?
How’s the economy?
How’s the budget?
Are people happier? How’s the homeless problem? Are 40 million people still on food stamps? How is the healthcare situation? Is the infrastructure in better shape? Is crime up or down? How’s the human rights situation? Are their more or less incidents of police brutality? How is the racial situation? Are schools better? Do people feel that their futures are brighter or not?

I think we would be in a similar standing to where North Korea is in the world today; isolated, feared and hated with a great disparity in internal wealth and a miserable populace.
I can not. Unfortunately, I am not a professional comedian.
Imagine the world where Biff got the sports book out of the Delorean.
The Statue of Liberty would be renamed “The Liberty Broad”, and the torch would be replaced by a prominently raised middle finger. ;-)
He wouldn’t make it through one term. He’d be the first President in American history to be impeached and forced out of office, compliments of both sides of the aisle.
The world would laugh at you just a little bit louder, some folks may even soil themselves.
He would soon learn that president isn’t the same as being king. He can’t really just do whatever the fuck he wants. He would make the country retarded as quickly as Obama made it Socialist. he didn’t
I agree with @Pachy that impeachment hearings would begin almost immediately, and surely be successful.
I don’t see how he could even pull off a credible cabinet, and it would be deadly for anyone in congress to side with Trump. If you think Obama wasn’t able to get much done, try nothing.
What is he going to be impeached on? Do you really think he is going to be breaking laws left and right and going outside the scope of the Executive branch of government?
Too early to be talking about impeachment since he’s not even yet the GOP nominee—and won’t be, let alone President. But since this question was framed as a suspension of reality, my previous comment made the point, somewhat tongue-in-cheekly, that I believe if he were President, given the awful things he’s saying and promsing to do (and undo), he wouldn’t have a chance of surviving four years in office. Something would bring him down.
A insane asylum with a dictator director.
@Pachy you mentioned impeachment not me. I accept you were being tongue and cheek. I don’t see why we can’t hypothesize what would happen if he did become President. It doesn’t mean we are saying he will become President. Hell, we can talk about what would happen if Brittany Spears became President if we wanted too.
Almost every policy idea Trump has is either impossible or illegal. So I think impeachment would be pretty likely
@rockfan anything impeachable he might not actually do if he became President. Which policy idea are you talking about?
Building a wall? We already have some fence and wall.
Tightening the border and deporting more? He could add more agents doing that work. No new laws needed.
Not giving citizenship to all babies burn here? He could try to have the policy amended so it’s more like a lot of European countries. I’ve been saying that for the last 5 years on Fluther myself.
Change the health care system? He could work with congress to do that.
Change some tax law? He can try to get that done with congress.
He could try to have birthright citizenship changed, but that’s not going to happen. It’s not a simply matter of policy, but rather would require a change to the Constitution itself. That’s not something ether the President or the Congress can do themselves.
@janbb Yours may be the best prediction yet. At a minimum, the world would laugh at the US far more than they would listen to us.
