If a guy forced Hooters, Tilted Kilt, or similar restaurant to hire him, would that set up a de facto ”gay section”?
Referencing this thread here, with the US being so PC even when it defies sound logic, if a guy wanted to work at Hooters, Tilted Kilt, etc. and cited equality and somehow forced his way into those establishment, if he was willing to wear the ”uniform of the business” as any female would, would he not create a de facto ”gay section”? If the attraction is the women as much or more than the food (as some has indicated), what straight man would want to sit in his section if there were openings in the sections with the women, even the less curvy ones? It would seem that the patrons attracted to his section would be gay men (OK maybe older ladies if they can get passed women in shorts being there), think of it, who but gay men would be excited seeing him walk about in a tight top and butt hugging orange shorts? If the guys were not gay would he even come close to raking in the tips the women serving male tables would receive? Would not the only way his daily tip count would even come close was if gay men were tipping him because to them, he would serve as the same type of eye candy as the girls would to straight men?

I’m pretty sure that there is a legal way that those restaurants are protected in case a guy tried to pull a stunt like that.
Those restaurants do sometimes have male bartenders and managers. I would guess there might be male servers now and then? I’m not sure. I don’t think anyone would be thinking there is a gay section. Plus, I have more than one gay male friend who likes tits.
If someone wants to set up a gay restaurant I think the concept would be totally different and hopefully have better food.
^ I don’t think anyone would be thinking there is a gay section.
No, no, not that there would be an official “gay section”, it would just end up as that by reason you have some guy working it in a tight shirt and booty hugging orange shorts. If the women are supposed to be part of the dining experience, which is the reason they are in tight shirts and booty hugging shorts or micro minis, it is because they are appealing to me, presumably straight men. So, if you have presumably straight men who want to see the T&A show over buffalo wings, why would he want to sit in a section covered by a guy straight or not, in a tight shirt and booty hugging shorts when he can be in a section with women and the T&A show? The only men presumably that would get enjoyment out of seeing a guy in a tight shirt and booty hugging shorts would be gay men, so they, if they ate there, would maybe request sitting in the section covered by the guy; thus since that would be the section gay men would presumably be more at home in, it would be the de facto ”gay section” by way more gays than straights use it. Or you have an alternative idea? :-)
Is the male waiter always working the same section?

^^ Is the male waiter always working the same section?
It might not be, but any section he worked during his shift will be that. I have been to restaurants frequent enough to see some due keep certain servers in the same section, but any ”gay section” would not be permanent so long as it rotated women in there, but when the guy is there, it would be, unless you have another theory? You still have not addressed if he would keep ”tip pace” with the women?
No. Now stop presuming to understand gay folks.
I guess you’ve never heard of the Chippendales?(also sexily clad and designed primarily to appeal to women)
What makes you think that only gay males would enjoy looking at a guy in booty hugging orange shorts? In your mind it would only appeal to older women? Why wouldn’t women of any age enjoy “the show”?
You really do have a strange compartmentalized way of looking at things.
And, for the record, the Breastaurants featured on Undercover Boss did have male employees but they were not clothed in short shorts. I don’t know whether any of the women would have a court case regarding the discrepancy in dress requirements for women vs. men. Now, that would be an interesting question?
Well, I just asked the interesting question. It’s in Social for anybody with an opinion on this.
For some reason, when I went to the Tilted Kilt for the first time, I was more than a little bit disappointed that there weren’t men in kilts serving us. I’d never go for Chippendales, but men in kilts are hot, even if they are not scantily clad.
Btw, my husband and I went there and had no idea that it was a Celtic themed Hooters. We took my daughter. We were all a little sheepish, but the beer soup was awesome.
Tilted Kilt does sound like it should be guys in kilts. That might be interesting, from a woman’s POV.
@Buttonstc What makes you think that only gay males would enjoy looking at a guy in booty hugging orange shorts?
What makes you think straight men do? Off the preponderance of evidence, FHM, Maxim, Playboy, Girls Gone Wild videos, most straight guys and the media that caters to them involve curvy women that are not fat. Unless you have seen one of those magazine that sported men in tiny garments that was not with a woman, doing something to a woman or her doing something to him? How many straight women do you know who would buy FHM magazines because they like to check out hot women?
In your mind it would only appeal to older women? Why wouldn’t women of any age enjoy “the show”?
That could be plausible, but conventional logic would say they either don’t need to go to a restaurant to ogle some guy, they can go to the mall and hook up, or they would want to be ”the show” and be one of the Hooters girls making the money and not spending it. Older women would not compete for attention against a Hooters Girl.
And, for the record, the Breastaurants featured on Undercover Boss did have male employees but they were not clothed in short shorts.
Were they serving table and out front, or busing the table, in the kitchen, mopping the floor or taking out the trash, something where they were not being tipped on their looks?
@Darth_Algar No. Now stop presuming to understand gay folks.
This has nothing to do about understanding gays, I guess by your comment you cannot dispute the idea…...so next…..
@Hypocrisy_Central
You’re right, it has nothing whatsoever about understanding gays. It does, however, have to do with your ignorant, half-baked assumptions. Frankly, the question is so nonsensical that’s there’s nothing to dispute. Disputing this would be like disputing the idea that the Moon is made of cheese. Not worthy of any serious consideration.
Well, I think the question is, if a man did force Hooters to allow him to dress like the women, and to wait tables dressed like that, would anyone find that attractive? Personally, I wouldn’t.
@Darth_Algar It does, however, have to do with your ignorant, half-baked assumptions.
No, what it does is show you are good at naming something but have yet to produce any theory, or situation disputing it. It is almost as if you believe that if straight men had the chance to be waited on by hot curvy women in tight clothes or some guy in tight clothes, they would careless, so long as their food is hot when it hits the table. Do you actually think straight men would not want to angle at being served by an attractive curvy, buxom woman in shorts, or a man in shorts? Depending on your answer, that will show who is ignorant.
@Dutchess_III Well, I think the question is, if a man did force Hooters to allow him to dress like the women, and to wait tables dressed like that, would anyone find that attractive?
This question is not about a man forcing Hooters to allow him to dress like that, but a man wanting to force Hooters to hire him as a server because everyone is on this cockamamie PC, personal rights bull puckey. If some guy found a way to force Hooters to hire him and they said, you have to dress like the women, and he was stupid enough to do it just to work at Hooters, as you say, who would find that attractive? I say the people most likely to enjoy seeing a man strut around in booty hugging orange shorts would be men who are guy, or maybe @Darth_Algar because he doesn’t seem to care if he was served by such over curvy women.
I’m a woman at risk of having a thought. I have eaten at Hooters and I wouldn’t mind fit young male waiters. Might be at risk of attractimg more women customers.
^ I’m a woman at risk of having a thought.
You are any other woman thinking would have little bearing on some guy wanting to break the ”panty curtain” and get hired on in a de facto ”girl-central workplace”. You may enjoy seeing make beefcake wait on you in booty hugging orange shorts, but do you think the average US man would, especially if there were women in booty hugging shorts they could be waited on by?
You are right on. HC. How bold of me to have an opinion and put my needs in front of the male company I might be with. Shame on me.
