This message has been popping up the past few days on my iphone. “Carrier setting update. New settings are available. Would you like to update now?” I’ve looked into it and people are saying it’s ok to do it. My question have you done it. Will anything but be erased or removed from my phone? My carrier is sprint.

I don’t have Sprint, so I can’t say for sure.
But as a result of the agreement between Sprint and one of the satellit TV companies, Sprint has increased its number of antennas and access points because they are using bandwith and radio waves owned by the TV people (Dish, I think).
So it wouldn’t surprise me if they were pushing new configurations out to your phone to take advantage of the new increased amount of radio availability.
But… why not call Sprint and ask?
Harmless. I’ve had them many times in the history of owning an iPhone. They’re tiny and I don’t remember for certain, but I don’t even know if it reboots the phone. You can always look on the Apple support forums, but I wouldn’t stress.
