I noticed that in the bottom right corner of every page, "© 2015 Fluther Aquarium, LLC" appears, and I want to know what that means?

Was the copyright renewed this year?
If so, is that a year-by-year thing, or is there another time frame?
Does the copyright expire this year?
If so, is it an expensive process to renew for a new term?
I’m not alarmed or being alarmist, just curious, now that I noticed it.

The only thing I know is that there were the 2013 and 2014 versions of that thing. My guess is that it’s just another time frame.
It just means that this material is copyrighted by them currently. I’m sure there is an algorithm that updates the year automatically.
“For works securing federal statutory protection for the first time on or after
January 1, 1978, the Copyright Act of 1976, as amended in 1998, establishes a
single copyright term and different methods for computing the duration of a
copyright. Works of this kind fall into two categories.
Works Created on or after January 1, 1978
The law automatically protects a work that is created and fixed in a tangible
medium of expression on or after January 1, 1978, from the moment of its
creation and gives it a term lasting for the author’s life plus an additional 70
years. For a “joint work prepared by two or more authors who did not work
for hire,” the term lasts for 70 years after the last surviving author’s death.”
Copyright Office
No, no you don’t (trust me on this, just walk away sloooowly).
