Are there any Jellies out there interested in co-hosting a podcast with me?

I haven’t seen a podcast in action so can you tell me how it works?

In my case it’s just like radio but live streamed and downloadable.

If you have a decent Internet connection, microphone, and Skype you can guest-host on my show.

Well maybe I think I’ll give it a try.

Oh that would be tempting, but I would sure have the “Howard Stern effect” in reverse ~~

Each bradcast a different topic? Interviews?

Can we spend the whole time trashing teams we don’t like such as the Dallas Cowboys and Patriots?

@ZEPHYRA . . . Each broadcast is indeed a myriad of different topics. It can get very tangential at times.

@marinelife . . . I would dedicate an entire segment to it if you wanted to come on and trash talk.

@Hypocrisy_Central . . . My offer is open to all and anyone who has listened in the past will tell you that I show nothing but the utmost respect for my guests, regardless of their opinions.

The name of the show, Random Ass Radio, allows me the freedom to discuss anything.

I have listened to some of the broadcasts and @Blondesjon is right. He is never anything but respectful to his guests. They are fun shows!

Do you have any I can listen to to get a feel for what it’s like? (And to get a feel for what a podcast is)

Is this audio only the way radio is?

Can it be done using the Skype App on a tablet rather than a computer?

If yes, to both of these then I’d be willing to give it a try.

Not interested as I know I’d get shy and self conscious, but definitely I’d like to listen to some past podcasts that involve any Jellies. Is there a link?

I am not uploading any episodes until I launch the website and I’m not launching the website until I have 7 or 8 episodes in the can. This goes for the precious few old episodes I didn’t delete from my hard drive when I was no longer able to do the show, a decision I sorely regret right now.

This means you have to watch the live show on Friday nights for the next couple of weeks if you want to hear it.

A few things to keep in mind if you are serious about trying it out:

1. This is not a place to air your Fluther grievances. If you have beef with the site and want to bitch about it you’ll need to find someplace else to do it.

2. You must not be easily offended. I have been known to consume alcohol and speak inappropriately when recording.

3. You must have a sense of humor and be willing take AND give a little ribbing. The entire show is a joke. Keep that in mind.

4. The content of the episode you are on is just as much yours as it is mine. This means I want your input that week for what we should discus, what kind of bits you might like to try, and just about anything else you would like to add. This is what helps keep things “random”.

5. I ask that you stay at least 30 minutes if you decide to try it out. Most folks stick around a lot longer.

6. The most important rule is that your audio equipment must sound nice when we try a sound check. The content of the show can be absolutely ridiculous but the audio quality is professional and pristine. My top priority it to maintain this quality. If you’re call in audio is shitty I will try and work with you to fix it but if we can’t, I can’t have you on.

7. You must also be 18 years old since the show contains mature content like alcohol and cussin’.

I would also like to ask the mods if I am allowed to post links to the show on the thread here if they are going to involve Jellies.

As I think i’ve memtioned before, i’d not want to take over your show, considering i’m an outrageous show-off, best leave me out.
