What is this?

A friend of mine lives in the Seattle area and found this on his window. Ever see anything like this before? Do you know what it is?

Moths lay their eggs in tight arrays like that, often on windows. See here.

Looks like an owl wearing a Grouch Marx tache crashed into the pane.

Yes, I think it is some sort of moth egg clusters. Neato patterns.
We are under siege with preying mantises right now. I had one flare up and spread its wings at me on the porch yesterday, trying to look extra big. haha

@Coloma Anything that bites the head off of their male partner during sex scares the crap out me!

@Cruiser LOL…I think it’s great! Preserve the gene pool and provide for the little insect offspring all in one via self sacrifice. Whatta guy!
