Anything my Mom made. She was an excellent creater of wonderful. Wow.
No, wait!
Except for lima beans, brussel sprouts, and cube steak.
Euw. She used to say: “you’ll grow up some day.” meaning to enjoy them.
Some things, I have. But these three.
Wuhfffeuw…ick
Not happening.
Sorry Ma. xoxo
A steaming, greasy plate of enchiladas with lots of cheese and onions and a guacamole salad
I’m with @msh—I loved my mom’s cooking. She wasn’t what you’d call a great cook—got most of her recip[es from her own mom and had a fairly small repertoire. But the dishes she made over and over—pot roast, liver and onions, oxtail soup, Passover foods, fried chicken, and maybe best of all, her special fudge (the secret was less cocoa!)—were wonderful. I’ve never been able to duplicate any of her recipes and miss all of them to this day.
Pan seared Scallops, with pan roasted asparagus, carrots and chopped fresh garlic with a side of steamed wild rice. yum!
My favorite dish? Natalie Portman.
My favorite thing to eat when I go to a restaurant? Prime Rib, Sweet and Sour Pork, or Fish and Chips, depending on what I have eaten lately.
A well cooked steak with some of that steak sauce that hits you in the feels. And a beer. An ice cold black and blue would do.
This would have to be near the top.
.Impossible to pick just one, impossible.
Lobster yes, my killer spaghetti sauce and my chicken pepper steak sandwiches. Thanksgiving dinner, which we make here with chicken at least once a month, with the works, including my home made apple/cranberry compote. Made Chinese chicken salad last night and the night before home made chili with salad and garlic bread. I’m a total foodie..
I also make a killer meatloaf with a secret glaze and line the pan with thick sliced red potatoes and cabbage wedges. Oh man….to die for.
Crab, lobster or salmon. Yummm!
The best lobster ever was when Rick grilled one on the grill, along with a filet Mignon steak for Valentine’s day. Glad I wasn’t at a restaurant because I was picking at that lobster with my fingers to get every little morsel.
Y’all are killing me with your delicious descriptions.
Yum.
Whatever’s both reasonably healthy and has the best cost-to-calorie ratio.
Fish or steak and/or something with a delicious sauce. I usually order something I know I could never make well myself.
As we speak, I’m sauteing some onions in butter. It’s what’s for dinner! Yum!
I’ve got a big ol’ casserole dish that I use as my favorite salad bowl. Aside from that I’ve got a smaller bowl that is my favorite for ice cream. Between the two of them, whether I’m wanting a salad or some ice cream, those are my generally favorite dishes. Otherwise it’s just dinner plates, dessert plates and a couple of platters, but those I can interchange pretty regularly.
Even though it is considered a breakfast item, I will order huevos rancheros any time I see it on a menu, for breakfast lunch or dinner. Most Mexican restaurants only serve it for breakfast, but a couple of my favorites serve it anytime they’re open. There’s also a couple of diner types of restaurants that have it on their breakfast menu. It’s kind of a running joke with my family now. Whoever spots huevos rancheros first on the menu will say, “Well, I guess we know what Kardamom’s going to order.”
@Kardamom I have been craving Eggs Benedict the last few days, it has been years since I indulged. Oh man….the 40,000 calorie breakfast. haha
^^^ Sooo what’s on Pamelas plate anyway?
Is it just a plate of stuffing, bisquits and string beans?
What’s on Pams plate?
Everyone guess. lol
Tofurky, I think, @Coloma, according to to the caption, “Vegetarian turkey dinner.”
