This is a great time of year for my love/hate relationship with shows that have something to do with the paranormal. The shows that are hyped-up ‘ooo-yow!’ stuff are plenty. But the ones that are the kind that make your stomach ache and your whole being tense up so you are scared at everything for hours after the show has ended. I hate that! I LOVE it! It is exhilaratingly exhausting!
I didn’t hate it, but I watched Friends, because my husband liked it. I never thought it was very good.
I have seen a couple of episodes of The Office, and I hate that show.
As one who has lived alone for years, I’ve always enjoyed the luxury of watching only what Iike.
No. If I hated a show, I change the channel. What else?
Full House. Not the original run. Just in re-runs. It’s not funny at all, but I always end up watching at least 10 minutes of it if I happen to run across it. I have no idea why.
The wife is a sucker for Idol, So You think You think You can Dance, The Voice, Project Runway, and other such stuff that runs me right out of the room. She records them all to be viewed at leisure and skip the commercials. The DVR is just packed with the stuff. When she chooses to watch in the living room, I usually sit and read and glance at the screen when she chirps “look at this”. It really melts my heart that she is SO happy if I sit with her while that stuff is on. My wife is a brilliant woman, and I sometimes just break into fits of laughter just thinking about all of that mental horsepower parked in front of the flat screen soaking up the drivel.
Oh, I finally thought of one. Seventh Heaven. Everything about the show is brain-meltingly tedious, but I found it mesmerizing. Maybe it was something about the long, long, long expositional monologues the characters spoke at each other, that were supposed to pass for conversations. The writing on that show was terrible.
This might get me banned from Fluther, but Breaking Bad fits the description. The SO and I watched the whole series. It was fun and quirky at first. Then it just got more dark and depressing. We couldn’t relate to the drug culture and there were only two characters worth rooting for. It wasn’t a bad show; it was just painful to watch.
I’m pretty sure I hate How to Get Away with Murder… but I keep watching it. I really don’t know why. Maybe I think it will get better. It has to, right??
Sorry only watched a few episodes but really disliked it, and most everyone else just loved this show and I could never figure out why, and that show was Family guy.
Edit it is the hilarious house of frighenstien. I liked Vincent Price but the rest is not worth watching.
@SQUEEKY2 Oh I can’t stand Family Guy either.
@SQUEEKY2 and @Kardamom, I agree with you both about Family Guy which, like its distant ancestor Married With Children, another show I hated, represents a low form of “humor” that totally escapes me.
Nope, I don’t watch shows that I hate. Why waste my time?
