How would I find the date that my mother died?
I know it’s out there somewhere, online, but I can’t find it.

Go to your state’s Bureau or Department of Vital Statistics, or whatever registry there is for death certificates.
If you have her social security number, you can make an inquiry through Social Security.
Was it published in the local paper? Look up the obituary that was published.
I just checked that site putting in someone I know that died, and it worked accurately.
This was in 2005 or 2006. Not sure which paper it was published in @cazzie.
Hot damn, there it is @jca! I’m a rotten daughter. She died in 2007. I should know that.
That’s weird. It says, “Benefits Paid to Zip Code 32034 (FL). She was born in Washington. We lived in Florida for a few years when I was small. We moved to Kansas in 1967. She moved back to Washington in 1981. What “benefits” are they referring to, and why Florida?
I don’t know. The one I put in had accurate zip code for the benefits paid. They had the zip of the town he lived in when he died.
Well, my DAD lived in Florida when he died…he died a couple of years before my Mom. ... ?
Yes, your county recorders office should have a copy of the death certificate on hand.
I KNOW what day I am going to die, if I follow suit of my great grandmother, grandmother and mother…yep, as weird as it is, they all died on Jan.21st, decades apart but still….woooooo, spooky coincidence or fate? haha
It was in King County in Washington State. I mean, I know I could send off for all the info, and probably have to pay for it, but that just isn’t worth it.
Check back with us on Jan 22nd, k @Coloma?!
@Coloma Can I guess it would be Jan 21, 2017, if Trump wins the election? That would be the day after he would be inaugurated.
@zenvelo Please, no, not yet. We still have 8 weeks, maybe Trump will have an accident.Maybe he’ll choke to death on his own words. lol
@Coloma We have a year! Election is 13 months away.
@zenvelo Oops, yes, my brain is not functioning at full capacity today. Oh good, you just bought me some time. haha
@Coloma As my father approached his 66th birthday he became very depressed. He believed he would die around 66, the age my grandfather died. He made it to 81.
Have you gone to ancestry.com? With a free three month trial you can search their database of birth and death records. How many years ago was it? If I google my moms name and town she died in get obituary comes up.
