What photo-sharing site would you recommend?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47127points) October 8th, 2015

I want to create a family reunion, visual family tree thing, with sub folders and sub folders and sub folders of pictures and descriptions.

I’ve had photobucket for forever, but it’s starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth so I don’t want to make a new account there.

Has to be free.

Flikr is a good option.

I would have to go with Flikr too. It is pretty nice and it is a Yahoooo property so it probably won’t vanish anytime soon. I like it enough to keep my important pictues there

That is sort of a joke. I don’t keep anything important online. For stuff I want to share I host my own photo sharing thing. But Flikr would be good for you. And I will just leave this here.

I use dropbox to store and share my pictures, but I still use photobucket to edit them. Sigh.

imugur is good and easy but they delete your stuff if nobody has viewed it in the last 30 days. If you want short term storage it is hard to beat.

Google should have options and more privacy . You need to be a bit familiar with Google docs. Google can create folders, files, links, passwords, or security. You have to give someone access to see them or if you want you can make it public. I even back my files on the Google drive.

Well, whatta ya know. I already have a flickr account. Apparently I created it in 2008. I had two pictures in there. One of a cat that is now deceased, and another of her grave. But…I was happy to find those pictures. I thought they were lost.

I’m trying to create albums to experiment before I create a whole new account. I get this far, but when I try to drag a pic from the file on my computer over to the place it says to drag them, I get that message.
Am I doing something wrong here?
