Have you ever had the pleasure of tasting Cookie Butter? Which brand do you like better? Why?

As long as it isn’t “burn your mouth spicy” I’m pretty adventurous about trying new foods.
So, when I saw it at Kroger the other day, I picked up a jar. Wow. It’s like an alternative Nutella or something.
By that I don’t mean that it tastes anything like Nutella but that it’s a soft spread which tastes exactly like the cookies from which it’s made.
Apparently there are two different brands. The one I picked up is called Biscoff Cookie Butter by Lotus foods (from Belgium).
There’s another called Speculoos by Trader Joe. I haven’t tasted it yet but it’s on my list the next time I’m in the vicinity. But the nearest TJ
from me is over an hour.
So, I’m curious if any other Fluther folks have encountered this delicious
treat.
I know that we have some Jellies in various European countries where Speculoos cookies originated and are very popular during the Xmas holidays.
So, what is your cookie butter preference and what’s your favorite way of utilizing it? So far I’ve just been using about a spoonful per day right out if the jar. It really is that good. But I’d be interested in any other ideas.

I’ve only ever had Trader Joe’s, and I smear in on toast and/or waffles, or just off the spoon. (Cuz I’m just disgusting like that!)
I am about a five minute ride from Trader Joe’s. I am tempted to pick up a jar of this stuff now, but I need it like a hole in the head.
I only use actual butter.
I’ve not had the spread but love Biskoffs and Speculoos biscuits (cookies). They both taste the same to me, ie delicious. I like them with a cup of tea.
I like the Biscoff spread, too. It’s delicious.

I seem to remember quite a while ago you posted a question asking for suggestions for what you could eat with the medicine you take that was high in calories but not too large an amount (or something like that).
I imagine this would fit the bill nicely. As a matter of fact, I just read that Ben and Jerry ice cream uses it as part of their cookie dough flavor.
I haven’t seen it yet but am eager to try it, so I’m on the lookout. Presumably they have Ben and Jerry ice cream in Hawaii?

Yeah, I’m disgusting like that too; urrently rationing myself to just one spoonful a day to keep from eating the whole jar.

Oh, come on. What’s one more hole in the head. Join the delicious. It’s calling to you. But the sooner the better because TJ has been subject to heavy demand and severe shortages at times.
Besides, I need a researcher. From what I’ve read, some people say that the TJ brand tastes better others say not. And apparently it has a grittier texture.
So, how about it? Interested in sampling some TJ for the sake of science ?
Oh, I just remembered I read that TJ stores will give you a free sample spoonful upon request. I don’t know if that applies to all of them but it might be worth a try :)
I will buy some next time I’m there, which will be in the next few days. Without having had other cookie butters, I have nothing to compare it to, but I will let you know.
