Are naked football players' butts really a national issue?
one of many articles
I didn’t actually see this, but I have read enough about it…
Apparently after the Cincinnati – Buffalo football game this past weekend, TV cameras were in the locker room (as always) and some male flesh (that is not usually shown on TV) was in the background as the various players made their way to the showers after the game.
Now it seems to be a big deal – women and children swooning over the fact that men have urinary and excretory organs. As I understand it, they were not in focus and barely visible in the first place.
What did the NFL and TV networks expect? You put cameras in a room where people are naked, you see naked people. Duh.
What do the complainers expect? That after a game where people sweat for 3 hours, they’re going to put on silk robes to get to the shower room?
Why are people so overwhelmingly immature when it comes to body parts?

We in the US have not yet outgrown our Puritan roots.
If only the Puritans could have been on the Titanic instead of the Mayflower. ;-)
Of course they were going to get bent over naked buttocks, especially males which are not attractive at all. On a recent thread if you take account of how people feel about bra-less women who are not showing no skin, just that you get the shape, to not say anything (though I suspect overall more accepting) of naked males butts would be highly surprising to me….oh not really, I know people….
Funny. They are upset that their children see a naked butt but have no qualms about their children seeing grown men pound each other into the ground and sometimes cripple an opponent to grab a ball and score a point. Or witness these once vibrant men decline early in life because of body and head injuries. That’s all I got to say.
I think there should be a congressional committee formed to investigate these, so-called, naked male buttocks and penis’s (Peni? Penisi?) on national television.
1983. Hill Street Blues. David Caruso’s naked rear end all across the 10:00 NBC screen.
Nothing has changed anatomically since.
It shocked then. Now, not so much.
We are passed the stage of ‘take it back’.
Women reporters in the locker rooms- that was also a biggie. Gasp! Men said- can’t be neked in there anymore. Not right!
This time- still- people were aghast?
It’s about a guy’s bits and pieces.
I, for one, find some of them very attractive.
(David Caruso’s…. Not so much.)
And that horrid sport- football?
If I watch a good game AND get to see all that in the locker room?
Damn!

I don’t think locker room interviews are a good idea. Give the players a chance to shower, and get their emotions under control.
@msh Is it bad my first thought was “Too bad it wasn’t baseball”? Baseball players tend to be more aesthetically pleasing.
^^ It’s their big, hard “bats” isn’t it @Seek ^^
Ha. Nah, I’m an arms and shoulders girl.
Ooo, and hands. Eyes. Dare it be…..
No.
Be a lady. Even if it kills me.
