Ladies, how do you put on your bra? Does your size affect how you put it on?

Asked by CharlotteB (9points) October 24th, 2015

I saw a Buzzfeed poll last month asking us ladies how we put on our bra. Do you hook in the front and spin it or clasp in the back? That got me thinking. Does your boob size affect how you put it on? I’m a 36E and I hook and spin. Too many hooks to clasp in the back! lol

I’m with you, @CharlotteB, I hook in front and spin. 42F/G here.

@augustlan It’s so much easier!

I’ve always hooked in back, even when I was a whole lot heavier. I’m pretty flexible.

Hook and spin, but recently I’ve been wearing a lot of the no hook comfort bras. Because eff cleavage.

Hook in back.

Once in a very blue moon, maybe once every few years, I hook in front and spin. I only do it when I’m putting on a bra I rarely use and having trouble hooking in back.

People who spin easily, I would wonder if they wear a bra that is too big, because it usually isn’t easy to spin, but not impossible of course. Big breasted women are more likely to not have the symptoms of a bra that’s too big across the back.

My waist is smaller than my ribcage, but now that you mention it, I really wear the correct size bra. Most stores start bra sizes at 34. So I’m stuck with 34b instead of 32c

@Seek Online you can probably find the right size. Wearing a bra too big is often very irritating, because it shifts, and annoying, because often you have to deal with the straps falling down. If you are narrow and also petite (short) Wacoal makes a petite line, although their bras are a little pricey.

I cannot shop online for clothing, especially bras or shoes. Of the rack clothing is not made for someone with my proportions, so sizes are meaningless even with a guide. I don’t buy anything unless I can try it on first.

I might have some 32 bra samples in my closet. I’m going to check.

I have a 32, but the cup is too small. :(. I would have sent it to you.

I don’t doubt it. Samples are usually small sizes though. I know you are talking about the selection in stores. In Bloomingdale’s we carried 32C in Wacoal and Calvin Klein for sure. I just know those two because I worked for both. I think we did in Nordstroms and Saks also? Better stores will have that size because women with more money tend to be thinner.
