What's for dinner?

Asked by dammitjanetfromvegas (4601points) October 31st, 2015

I’m having one of those moments when I can’t think of anything different. I’m looking for something quick, easy and warm for a damp, chilly and busy Halloween.

No pizza. We did that last night.

After we give candy to the little trick-or-treaters, who generally come early, we’ll be going to an adult party. There’ll be plenty to eat there. Lori gets a break from cooking dinner! (Although I did make a nice brunch this morning.)

What about breakfast for dinner? Maybe scrambled eggs and toast, or do you have ingredients to make a pot of some sort of soup with bisquits or cornbread?

Potato cream soup, along with a grilled cheese sandwich.

Meatloaf, the singer, cannibalised on Halloween night…I won’t do that!

We always have a don’t-care supper on Halloween because it’s going to be interrupted so many times by doorbell ringers, even though we no longer have our own trick-or-treaters perishing to go out. That’s a good time for something like Kraft mac & cheese.

Hey…what about Quiche? I make a great quiche using the store bought pre-made pie shells. Eggs, mozerella cheese or cheddar, ham, sausage and broccoli. Fast and yummy, but if you’re counting calories a fatty treat. haha

fried vegetables with fried egg-rice

You are cooking not me, so you tell me what we are eating? I just hope it is not fish, shellfish, liver, veggies, chitterlings, or anything spicy as in hot. ~~

Cocktail shrimp and a tossed salad. Shrimp were in a spicy lime and garlic sauce.

How about spaghetti with fried garlic toast? Fast, cheap, easy, filling, and always warms me nicely.

@talljasperman That’s a spooky dinner. lol

What about the easy and great old stand by of a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup!

talljasperman's avatar

@Coloma Oh I’m going to save that for Christmas.

ibstubro's avatar

@talljasperman Did they really taste like porterhouse?

talljasperman's avatar

@ibstubro It tastes like warm greasy salt.

ibstubro's avatar

I’m not sure you’re supposed to warm them, @talljasperman.

talljasperman's avatar

@ibstubro They are cheap beef ribs. Not dog treats.

ibstubro's avatar

Oh, okay.

Then I guess there’s no Snausages for breakfast?

Coloma's avatar

I had tuna salad on toasted bread with bread and butter pickles, a salad and some whole grain chips and grapes. Now I want candy! haha

talljasperman's avatar

@ibstubro No. But I have some almost expired chocolate.

ibstubro's avatar

I just opened a bag of these and they’re really good.

And clearanced for $1!
