Under your roof, in your garage, etc. what percent of the stuff there is junk, what percent is actually something of worth or a true necessity?
That includes anything you have stored in your shed, or in a storage unit somewhere, if you had to take inventory of all of it, what percent is something you really need as cannot function without, for instance, shoes, pots and pans, etc. or stuff that has true market value, gold or silver coins or jewelry, antiques, bonds, T-bills, etc. what percent is junk or something you can do without and not suffer functionally day-to-day? Is it closer to 50/50 junk and useful stuff, 25/75, is it worse?

I’ve got a of pile of gold ingots, don’tcha know? Sometimes I go out and swim in it like Scrooge goddamn McDuck.
Nah. Mostly books. Inside and in the storage shed. Lots and lots of books.
10% might be junk. Not junk really, but not necessary to keep.
It’s not junk if you may need it someday. I have plenty of “stuff” most of it that causes clutter is camping/outdoor equipment. Some of which I still use but most of it could probably go. I had to cull my books down to two large shelves and even some of those could go. None of it is “junk” I’m short on space so junk goes away somewhat quickly. Day to day I don’t need much so 80% of what I have could go. The problem with having a lot of hobbies is that you end up with a lot of things.

I was thinking in terms of ”junk” being stuff, effects, goods, things one owns, not necessarily garbage or stuff that could not be used. Of the 90% stuff you say is not true refuse, how much is truly needed day in and day out, like the cellphone, the fridge, your bed, etc., and how much has a use but really isn’t used daily, weekly, and hardly get used once a year, or maybe you have not laid a finger on it in over a year?
@Hypocrisy_Central I have my cars in there and an open trailer. Tools that do get used. Stuff to clean cars. A garden hose. A few shovels, an outdoor broom, a shop vac, a folding table and some chairs. 3 sets of tires. Hurricane shutters. Oh, and I have some moving boxes that I’m going to use soon, but I was considering getting rid of them until I found out we are moving to Ohio.
