It’s sad. I don’t have much else to say.
Got word from my Ex that our son and his family is safe. This hits very close to home.
I’m shocked, stunned, afraid for the people over there. @janbb, I’m glad you’re family is safe.
I don’t understand their reasoning for killing people. That’s all I can say right now.
If it’s Muslim terrorists. Fuck em cowards! If not, screw them too…
@janbb Thank God!
I have friends there now. No word.
It’s sad, and it makes me sad that I’m not surprised.
@janbb Yes, glad to hear your loved ones are safe.
Personally, while I don’t have much to say, other than it’s a sad state of affairs, but…I strongly disagreed with the whole Charlie Hebdo baiting the bull some months ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, freedom of speech but if you’re going to play with the fire of terrorism don’t be surprised when you get burned. Foolish and just a double dog dare IMO.
At the moment the death toll is at 140. It will probably result in a major change in how receptive the French are to the Muslim community, and future immigration.
I just feel sick and sad. What more can one say?
Sadly, I think that Islamic terrorists are just warming up. Expect more and more. They want to destroy the modern world and all the civilized people in it.
Hope that Symbeline is OK…
Sym is Canadian French, Mimi.
5:15am. Just woke up to start my day and heard it on the radio. 158 dead, 200+ injured at 6 different sites in Paris. This has ISIS written all over it.
On the net: Some tweets in Arabic are celebrating these actions as revenge for the US alliance aggression in Syria. Some claim to be Syrian. This is ridiculous. That is like the French Underground bombing Carnegie Hall and Yankee Stadium for the US military actions in France after D-Day. I hope this results in a concerted worldwide effort to chase Al Qaeda, ISIS, et al to the ends of the earth and kill them all, once and for all.
This is interesting:
“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani canceled a trip to France, Italy and the Vatican, which was to begin on Nov. 14. It would have been the first visit by a leader of Iran to Europe in more than a decade. Mr. Rouhani strongly condemned the Paris attacks:
“‘Those terrorist groups that committed the Paris crimes do not believe in ethical principles, and they are not loyal to any type of divine religions including Islam.’”
I really hope he is sincere.
@dammitjanetfromvegas oh, I didn’t know that. My bad.
But still the whole thing is terrible. Even our government is concerned, as no one knows if there are people from my country among the dead. The first thing on the news everywhere is the attack. I just feel so sad to see the image of ambulances and people got carried on TV.
My friends all checked in, thank goodness. This can happen anywhere these days and not just muslim extremests. Timothy McVeigh, Breivik , the school shootings…. people are stupid.
