How do I get the sound to work on a suface 3 laptop with windows 8.1?

Check the sound in “settings” and make sure it hasn’t somehow been muted. I’m sorry, but I don’t know where the settings are on 8.1

Go to the control panel, and you should see a sound setting make sure it’s turned on.

I think I remember.

Swipe in from the right, and a menu appears. One of those will either be the settings or the control panel. That’s where you can find the control to the sound.

I typed search for sound and turned up the volume. It works fine now Thanks.
