What is a good summary of "The Crucible"?

During the 1950s, the U.S. had a “witch hunt” search for closeted communists, with people pointing fingers at each other and Congress interrogating the accused. In 1953, Arthur Miller wrote an allegory, likening McCarthyism to the true witch hunts of Salem.
