Is there anything I need to know about Skype before I create an account?
I’m installing Skype on my LG pad. I want to be able to Skype with my daughter and the kids.
What information can you provide me about this app? Do you like it? Hate it?

I have Skype on all my computers including my android tablet and it works well on all of them.
I got the Skype app from the google store for android and it installed and works well.
No cost at all?
Skype only charges if you want to use it to talk to land lines.
not really, just download and use it.
I’ve had skype for years. On all my stuff. It’s primarily free. Now if you want to do some serious networking than it can cost you something. But for speaking to family and friends no cost incurred. Now I did use it to sometimes use it as a phone to call my son on his home phone a few times when he was in Korea because the computer connection there and wi fi sucked, so we would buy skype minutes but 25 bucks could last me a long time for phone conversations over seas. We also use to to call elderly relatives who may not have internet connections. What I like about skype is that almost everything is compatible with it.
Also, since we have a small account with them, I can do a 3 way video or 4 way, like conference calling and see everyone on my screen. I’ve only done it once. I know everyone could hear each other but I don’t remember if they could also see each other.
That is a something you have to pay for. But for those who only have the free version, you can only hear the group I believe, and see the main caller but not see everyone on the call.
Oh, I did forget one thing. When ever using a tablet make sure you are on your wifi. If you have a set number of data usage on your tablet, you can be charged by your phone provider once you pass the amount of data usage for the month, unless you use your internet and not the data usuage linked to your phone. If you have unlimited data, then don’t worry about it.
Thanks all.
Thanks @Pandora. I specifically wondered about the data usage.
