Does anyone find Yahoo! Answers useful?

Asked by Lunar_Landscape (301points) December 4th, 2015

It seems, whenever I’m there, like none of its users take the purpose of the website seriously, and don’t even try to be helpful (unless its purpose is that it’s supposed to be a place to find useless answers, in which case its users do an excellent job).

I was active there 10+ years ago, but it was too infantile for me. I moved to Answerbag, and some egregious, radical changes there saw me move here. I have not been to Y!A since I left.

I was there a long time ago. The answers don’t appear to be moderated and are mostly junk.

I think it sucks. The times I fumbled onto it while aimlessly browsing were not too impressive.

It is populated by stupid people – so no useful info.

I just Googled a question and got an archived answer from Yahoo Answers. I found it helpful. When I was a member I found it useless.

Y!A refugee. It sucked before, and it gets worse now. Nobody seemed to be there to help, they either trolled or questioned my own questions. It seems that Y!A only does it job when Google is involved (like @RedDeerGuy1, I find most of my answers on Y!A through Google. There’s no point asking there)

Sometimes I’ve found it useful. But I do agree that most on ya don’t take the questions and answers as seriously as the people on Fluther.

Most just say: “I have had this problem too” which sometimes makes me feel better if it is something weird. I don’t actually find it useful though
