How can I get rid of smoked bacon if I don't like the taste ?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24886points) December 7th, 2015

I bought 6 packs of lightly smoked bacon for $4 each and I was wondering if I would like it? Or should I make some tonight and see if I like it ? If I don’t than how can I get rid of it?

Why did you spend that much all at one thing?

Cook it tonight. If you don’t like the taste, take the other three packs to a soup kitchen for them to use for breakfast.

I may be mistaken, but from what I know, all bacon is smoked or has smoke-flavoring added. You’ve been eating smoked bacon all along though the packaging may have not stated that plainly.

Chop it up and add it to a traditional pasta dish…mmmm….

That’s what I would do if I wasn’t on a damned diet. ;)

You could throw it away.
Or donate it to a random cop.

Simply wrap them up in colourful paper and give them as Christmas presents.

Don’t throw out the bacon before you have even tried it. Fry some up, make a BLT sandwich or whatever, and then, if you like it, freeze some for later use and if you don’t, surely you know somebody that might like you to bring home the bacon for them. haha

The first thing you should do is freeze five of the packages. No single person should consume that much bacon within the amount of time between buying it and the expiry date.

Fry it up, drain the grease, and make beans. Or feed it to the neighbor’s dog.

Throw it away?

Bake it, frying ruines it.

Well…..did you cook some? Did you like it? Have you checked your blood pressure after eating all that sodium?
Better take an aspirin now. lol

@Coloma Not yet. I had Chinese food for the last two days.

Add small amount at a time, to something else like a stew, but add something else with very very strong taste.

dappled_leaves's avatar

@RedDeerGuy1 But you froze some, right?

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@dappled_leaves No. They are in my crisper.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@all I made some bacon and eggs for lunch. They are fine. I was worried over nothing.

Darth_Algar's avatar

I’m curious – if you were worried about not liking them then why did you buy 6 packs of them?

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Darth_Algar I had them delivered. I thought that I got the wrong type.
