The Wild Wild West television show. (1965–1969)

It was a very popular show. However, most fans were sharply divided over which of the two star’s characters they liked better.
Well?
James T. West or Artemus Gorden? Pick one and tell why.
I know the show was syndicated and dubbed around the world. So it’s audience was also outside the US.
It may be running currently on one of the older television show channels.
I’m terribly sorry. The Wild,Wild West Film with James (sigh) Garner, Will Smith and Jodie Foster, does not count. I know, I know. Killjoy.
Trivia: Richard Pryor, Peter Lawford, and Sammy Davis Jr. all appeared on the show during it’s run. YouTube has the original episodes, if you want a blast from the past.

The only Westerns I liked are the ones with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, and the recent Django Unchained.
Jim West was all swagger and speed. Gordon was clever and resourceful, and funnier.
I liked Gordon.
Artemus Gordon, of course!
I loved the show and liked them both.
I’d liken it to choosing between Paul Newman and Dom DeLuise.
Jim wins.
I found Artemus a bit annoying sometimes but overall liked him better than West (a Western version of James T. Kirk, I just realized). My favorite character was Dr. Loveless (Michael Dunn). The movie version was dreadful.
I’m with Pachy, though I don’t really remember much about Dr. Loveless. I thought of West more as Bond than Kirk.
Artemus, though annoying sometimes, was more interesting.
(I eventually couldn’t take the camp, so (disliking most over the top non-sense-making action films) I’ve avoided watching the film.)
I liked Artemus. He was more interesting and fun. All his disguises and such.
James T. was always too cool, too perfect.
But his suit matched his eyes….
Do you remember James Conrad (James T.) doing the Duracell Battery commercial in the late 1970’s?
