What is the difference between JPEG, JPEG 2000, and JPEG Stereo?

JPEG Stereo is two images side by side, shot from slightly different angles, to provide a depth feeling when viewing through a device like a Viewmaster.

JPEG 2000 was a revised upgraded compression file format that is considered better than JPEG, but never caught on.
