First and foremost, he was dead.

Ghosts can not do anything.

Obi Wan was communicating with Luke using a method Vader was not familiar with. If Obi Wan guided Luke, Vader would have discovered the ability to talk with dead Sith lords, which would have been a great danger to the Jedi.

Here’s the thing, brace yourself…they stick to the scipt, mostly.

If Vader was so brilliant and powerful, why didn’t he check his brother’s house for his kid, or recognize the droids HE BUILT?

Answer: because George Lucas is an idiot.

I agree, Lucas is an idiot, you seen his beard?

So it falls on ME to defend an enormous ungodly pile of money ? The plot holes are undeniable, but you children must consider what Lucas has done for the technical advancement of motion pictures, and the science fiction/fantasy genre in particular. It isn’t the plausibility of the simplistic stories that’s behind that pile of money, and I applaud the man for standing aside after copping to the last 3 disappointments.

I think it’s almost certainly a mistake to view the Star Wars franchise as anything approaching dramatic masterpieces, anymore than one might view the Wizard of Oz as such. Personally, I wish Lucas had put the upcoming projects in the hands of Ridley Scott, but if wishes were fishes, we’d ALL smell funny.

The big question for me about Star Wars:

If they had all that programming for highly functional droids, why did they need pilots?

Zaku's avatar

@zenvelo All what programming for what highly functional droids? Seems to me the only highly functional droids are rare exceptional individuals… only R2D2 and General Grievous come to mind. The rest seem pretty incompetent.

Ok, Vader only made one of the droids (C3PO) , grievous was not a droid but had robotic appendages, jedi ghosts can advise, Lucas did not own up to the failures of the last three, he is saying F.U. to fans for their justifiable criticism.
