Looking to deepen my knowledge, yet I would like to spend time reading those books which are particularly wonderful. If you are fond of a biography or two, or even something more theoretical, I am interested. Further, my interest is not limited to a particular political party, as it is difficult to be educated without knowing the different sides.

I really liked Orwells Animal Farm and Huxleys Brave New World. I’m not sure if you are looking for fiction with a political theme or not.
“No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt”
“Team of Rivals. The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln”
Both by Doris Kearns Goodwin
She does meticulous research and is a terrific writer. She has written several other biographies as well but these two were my favoritea. I can’t remember which one won a Pulitzer.
The Jungle – Upton Sinclair
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. It’s full of political references, but is told from a child’s perspective. Therefore the story sounds more like a child reporting events from her life than a grow-up trying to brainwash anyone into believing any political belief. The story flows naturally and beautifully.
Thanks, everyone! I look forward to checking these out. Yes, I agree that Persepolis was wonderful.
