This voice describes what the characters are doing. I don’t think I hit a button my remote and I never heard this voice before. Is this some sort of closed captioning voice? How do I stop it?

I heard an apparently narrative voice when I was watching the “Bus Pants Utilization” episode. That was on TBS, Time-Warner Cable.
Now I’m watching “The Love Car Displacement”, and so far I haven’t heard that voice.
Yes, that’s the episode I was hearing it. Not sure why the voice started today. I can’t seem to find anything in my tv settings to turn it off. Maybe it’s just that episode.
Do you hear the voice in the episode now airing (”...Love Car….”)?
I’m not that familiar with the previously mentioned ep, but perhaps the voice was peculiar to it.
You’ve switched on audio description which is for those with poor vision. You can switch it off using your remote. Try going into menu then settings.
Must have just been that episode because I didn’t hear it on any other ones.
That’s what I was thinking too.
It’s good to know that you won’t have to mess around with your tv settings.
Does the voice sound like Sheldon? Leonard? Raj? Or Howard’s dearly departed Mother?
If it’s the last… change the channel!!!!
Now!
You hit the MTS/SAP button on your remote. Touch it again to turn it off. Only certain shows have this feature.
By the way, isn’t it fun to watch the show and hear the description? BBT is one of the worst offenders for laugh track usage, IMO.
The MTS/SAP narrator says “Howard walks into the room.” And the laugh track goes “Ha! Ha! Ha!” Count it down: 5,4,3,2,1 “Howard hands the box to Leonard.” LT “Ha! Ha! Ha!” Count it down :5,4,3,2,1 “Leonard open the box.” LT: Uproarious laughter!!!
The pattern is unmistakable.
I used to work at a TV station and it was rare but did happen where episodes would come in from the satellite with these tracks turned on by default. And it was somewhat odd since ours would be messed up and a station a hour away would get the correct one.
@johnpowell My Channel 31, FOX comes in over the air with Spanish by default. I have to select English. And I don’t live in an “Ethnically diverse” area. Clearly they are sending the wrong signal stream to te wrong place. This here’s Western NY. We’all speak Amurican ‘round these parts. ‘ceptin for the migrants in the orchards and vegetable fields.~
Or maybe it’s a scare tactic to help convince frightened, xenophobic voters to swing toward Trump?
