What can I do to get my body toned?
Hello, I’m a 20 year old female. I’m pretty skinny already but would like more of a fitness physique. I currently run 6 days a week. One of those days is outside, another day is on the treadmill at 0% incline and long distance, and the remainder of the days are treadmill 4% incline at 5.4 mph. I usually run for 30–45 minutes. I drink tons of water (in fact that’s the only thing I drink), and I just recently started to clean up my diet.
I don’t have the money for a personal trainer or gym membership, and I don’t have time to add in another half hour for weightlifting.
If I were to add push-ups and ab exercises to my regular routine, would that do anything at all? Over time I would gradually increase the #. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Yes it would, it will make a big difference. It only takes about 30 min every couple of days or so.
Space your abs and push-up exercises, alternate on different days. Also adding squats to the days you do abs.
Seven minute workout. It’s free. No equipment needed.
There are Mac, Windows, Android, and iPhone timer apps to keep you going.

Look at runners. They are typically lean, not bulky.
Push-ups would help, and you could buy inexpensive hand weights and do bicep curls, tricep exercises. Climb stairs whenever they are available rather than take an elevator.
Don’t have a lot of fat in your diet. Make sure you get enough protein for muscle building. I don’t mean a ton of meat, but also eat legumes and some nuts, and lots of green veggies.
Your muscles can be strong and defined, but if it’s under a big layer if far you just look fat. Muscle does not turn to fat and vice versa. The fat layer goes on top of the muscle, and other places.
