Were you ever a fan of Yahoo News, and do you still use it now that they embed sponsored ads throughout the news page?

I was a staunch Yahoo News supporter for many years because during the Sandy Hook shooting I opened Yahoo and the only story they were reporting was Sandy Hook. I appreciated a national tragedy not having to compete with a national disgrace Kardashian (lardass).
Since they started embedding sponsored ads in the news feed, I have no use for Yahoo News.
If you were ever a fan, are you still?
How do you feel about mixing news and ads, indiscriminately?

I look at news only occasionally on my computer—usually I follow it on my iPhone, so I’m not sure this info will help you. But just in case…
I follow a number of news services on my iPhone, including Yahoo, but reached the point late last year of almost deleting them because of all the annoying ads. I hate it when I’m reading a story and acidentally touch an ad, which of course throws me out of the story onto an unwanted webpage. But I found a solution. I downloaded an ad blocker called Weblock and now, for the most part, the ads are gone. It costs $1.99 and it worth every penny!
I used to, and I can’t stand it now. These sponsored ads are relatively new and completely obnoxious.
I am thinking of moving away to a different news source.
I’ve never used it, but I have to question why you’re not using ad blocking extensions on your browser.
I have always liked Google, because they have such clean search pages.
Yahoo is bad. The worst is ESPN.
@Seek – Adblock isn’t effective on these – they’re inline from Yahoo, not separate ads. That’s what makes them so insidious.
The only news source I use on a regular basis is The New York Times. Otherwise, I find the news online to be full of much garbage and celeb gossip.
I go to Yahoo when I want to look up movie showtimes and have noticed that about the newsfeed. It’s pretty disgusting.
If you look at Yahoo news, the ads are embedded and not subject to blocking, @Pachy, @Seek. You have to look for the small, faint, *Sponsored designation next to the individual story.
I’ve given up on Yahoo News entirely, @elbanditoroso, simply because of the ads. I can’t believe there wasn’t a backlash, unless they just don’t care. As @janbb says, “It’s pretty disgusting.” Like CNN embedding infomercials during prime time.
I still use Yahoo mail, @Hawaii_Jake, and, as I said in the details, once admired the news feed. So, yeah, Yahoo still is, but not much of a thing anymore.
