What is a good low effort snack food that I can buy in bulk?

I have a fridge and freezer. A oven, microwave and an electric frying pan.

Popcorn. As long as you don’t get the kind with all that chemically artificial “butter” on it, it’s actually quite healthy.

And it’s fun to make your own so then all you need is the kernels and a little bit of flavoring.

And nowadays with all the different air poppers out there you don’t even have to dirty a pot.

Plus, you can likely find an air popper for cheap at a thrift shop. Maybe $5–10.

Ever considered buying a smoker and making your own beef jerky?

You can buy a little blender for under 20 bucks and make smoothies.

Instant oatmeal is good and you can add raisins or nuts. Regular oatmeal is not hard to cook either, and it’s cheaper than instant (although store brand instant is quite cheap and often on sale).

Nuts are always a good healthy snack. Fruit is too.

@johnpowell I made beef jerky in junior high. It seems like a good idea.

@Buttonstc Yes I will do that thanks. @jca I love oatmeal I’ll buy some.

Bananas, apples, grapes, berries, small portions of nuts and seeds (don’t over do them though). Carrot and celery sticks and some hummos. Some yoghurt with some berries.

@RedDeerGuy1 :: Beef jerky is one of my favorite things but is so very expensive to buy. But is actually pretty cheap if you make your own.

Youve got to check this out. Lasr night I stumbled across a YouTube clip about how to cook a one portion batch of popcorn using a soda can. Its by this guy who calls himself “Crazy Russian Hacker”

In addition to this one called “10 soda can hacks” he has another one called “5 popcorn hacks”

But ignore the first 3 because they involve those atrocious microwave pre-packaged popcorn bags. Not only are they expensive, they are hugely unhealthy.

But the last two tips are worth it.

I think youll get a kick out of this guy. He also has tons of other life hacks for all kinds of stuff. Hes really smart.

Enjoy.

Nuts and dried fruits store well. You can either buy/ make your own trail mix.

Trader Joe’s has a large selection of trail mixes. I need only 6 almonds to cut my morning hunger.

Someone gave me a good little blender for Christmas. I am going to explore some smoothie recipes.
