How do you stop calls from going directly to voicemail on iPhone?

Asked by Adina1968 (2752points) July 24th, 2008

I have been having trouble with my calls going directly to voicemail. My iPhone doesn’t even ring. I have the new 3g but I recall having this problem in the past with my old iPhone. Has anyone else had this problem? How do you fix it?

I have had that problem on all the phones I have ever had connected to the AT&T/Cingular/AT&T network. Also, my voice mail doesn’t alert, my email doesn’t update, my texts back up, etc. My old iphone still does it. I usually just turn my phone on and off; this works a lot of the time. Oh well. I still love my phone.

I’ve had that happen a couple of time on my 2g iphone. Like tinyfaery, rebooting it seems to fix it for me.

Does it happen often for you? Mine’s only done it twice in two weeks (that I’ve noticed anyway)..

@damien- I have had this problem on and off for a while. I have been wondering if it is an AT&T problem or an Apple problem. I wasn’t even sure if there is something I am doing wrong.

I think it’s just another 2.0 software bug. I’m on o2 in the UK, so it’s not just AT&T if it is a carrier problem.

The 2.0 software does seem to have a few kinks that need ironing out. Hopefully Apple will get them sorted pretty soon. fingers crossed! Still beats the hell out of my old Windows Mobile Xda mini, though – I don’t think something could get more buggy than that.

My iPhone does that- also wont announce texts and screen goes black during a call and have to reboot. One call was blacked out 3 times requiring reboot every time. Went to Apple Store and they said it was just one of the many little bugs they were working on.

I am sure they will get all the bugs out. I BELIEVE in Apple!
