Yes. I have one TV and it’s in the bedroom, so if I am watching TV, I eat on the bed.
Never have, never will. Not gonna roll around in crumbs and crust.
No. I don’t keep a TV in the bedroom, so there would not be much point. I occasionally have a cup of tea by the bed if I’m reading, but if biscuits are involved I’ll read at my desk in the great room.
No. I do not have a TV in the bedroom and never have. My bed is for reading a little and sleeping.
I don’t like to, but I will if I’m reading in bed – especially if it’s because I don’t feel good. So I have, but it’s a very rare occurrence.
I read laying across the bed under the overhead light quite a bit, and yeah, I might have a snack there. It always sounds better than it is, because eating distracts from my reading and I usually just eat it all so I can be rid of it and read.
Candy is the exception. I can eat licorice or firm, self contained candy (like M&Ms or jelly beans) and read just fine. I just don’t eat a lot of candy.
It’s possible that I might call a pizza-and-a-movie night and we eat on the bed in front of the TV. Once in 2015.
Nope. And no TV in the bedroom either.
Never. I eat in the kitchen or sometimes the lounge.
As a side note and something that I thought was genuinely interesting: The OP never mentioned anything about a TV, yet a lot of people correlated eating in bed with watching TV. It confused me at first, because I thought I didn’t see part of the question. But nope.
I have no TV in my bedroom, either. Not a fan. If watch anything at all in my bedroom, I just stream from my computer screen.
I noticed the TV thing, too, @DrasticDreamer, and I had to go back and re-read before I posted. I had a response formed and when I went to post (after reading the posts before me) I thought I missed something.
I DO have a TV in the bedroom. I’d say my viewing in 2015 was under 10 hours.
It kind of scares me that people might equate eating with TV. When I was a kid we ate in front of the TV once a year: Wizard of Oz night. lol
Well, apart from eating popcorn while watching a film, I couldn’t think of a good reason to have food in bed.
@Seek Understandable. That’s exactly why I thought of reading immediately.
Nope. Don’t like crumbs in the bed. I will have coffee if my girlfriend and I are hanging out in bed in the morning.
Not very often, but yes I do now and then. Usually, it happens if my husband is watching one thing on the family room TV and I’m watching something else in the bedroom. Sometimes if the house is cold and I’ve been watching TV from my cozy warm bed, I might choose to eat something and stay in bed. Both situations are very rare.
I don’t correlate TV with food. I watch TV in my bedroom every evening, and some mornings. While watching TV in the bedroom I eat there less than 5% of the time. But, if I’m eating in bed it’s probably 100% of the time the TV is on while I’m doing it.
For myself, the reason why I answered in relation to TV is that I don’t see any other reason to eat in bed if not for watching TV, unless maybe a person is sick or it’s really cold in the house and the person needs to be under blankets.
@jca I agree. Sounds so depressing eating in bed in a silent room alone. I’d probably be on my family room sofa with three blankets eating before I’d do that.
Yes. Most weekends my husband or I will make tea and bring it upstairs with a not too crummy snack. This morning we had malt loaf
@Stinley malt loaf
“Deliciously squidgy energy”?
What language are you people speaking over there?
I often have breakfast in bed, although breakfast is usually a protein shake. Drunk while talking to my husband while sitting in bed. Occasionally, on a weekend, I might have some toast in bed. Other than that, no.
Sure, I love eating in bed. It’s a great happiness! I am reading or laptoping(?) if I’m not asleep. I’m careful about the crumbs.
Yes, sometimes I like to have a lazy few hours lying on the bed, watching catch up to on my iPad (I don’t have a to in my bedroom) and I always enjoy it more if I have some comfort food!
@jaytkay malt loaf is brilliant. Full of raisins and the malted flour gives it a nutty sort of flavour. Keeps you regular too! Got to put lots of butter on it as well for added squidgy energy
@Stinley and @jaytkay, malt loaf is the bomb! Oh I’d love some malt loaf. With lots of butter. Heaven. It’s not easy to get over here. I see it very rarely.
I only eat in bed, but then I am always in bed so my situation is somewhat different from that of most people.
