Will 'wazzock' become popular in the United States as a word to define a buffoonish idiot?
Apparently well understood in England video
it was used to describe Donald Trump in the parlaimentary debate yesterday.
Does America need a word like ‘wazzock’?

No, we don’t need British slang. We already have two words: Trump and Palin.
That word is very old fashioned, only daft politicians & old people would use it.
Don’t be a ‘Merry Andrew”!
Of course it will not become popular. Remember how popular the term Wanker became in the US? No? Well, there you go.
And no, it not really needed when we have the term “Egregious Ass”.
I think “fucking idiot” will do just fine.
Far more popular insulting words here include…
Cuntmuffin
Dickwad
Bellend
Muppet
Melt…as in “you fuckin melt”
We have Mcdorkasaurus, Wally, and wing nut. That will do.
@ucme Is that from Modern English as in “I’ll stop the world and melt with you”?
“Bellend” sounds like it’s a shortened version of a longer insult, like “he’s as useful as the bell end of a…. something whose bell end isn’t particularly useful.”
@rojo It refers to a guy with no balls, no spirit, a loser who gives everything up…a melt
Bellend is just an alternative to dickhead, the bell shaped end of a penis to be more precise.
@ucme America also has “dickwad”, but I feel like it’s something kids use as an insult more than adults do.
@DrasticDreamer Yeah, kids here like to pretend they’re “American” & so “dickwad” & “douche” are popular insults, a fairly recent thing.
When my son was in 2nd or 3rd grade when playing at recess he called one of his friends “a dickweed”. The teacher on duty heard him and called him over. She asked him what a dickweed was so he told her that it was a weed that grows out of your dick.
His honesty earned him a trip to the principals office and me a phone call.
And seriously, they were more upset that he had actually explained to the teacher what it meant than that he had called a friend a name.
I had a hard time not laughing as they tried to explain this to me without using the actual words themselves.
