I’m doing nothing in particular but I need a rest after a busy week and previous weekend. Let me live vicariously and tell me all your exciting weekend plans. Or make me feel my life is not so dull after all…

If I’m lucky.
I’ll probably clean the floors and bathroom.
Find a (decent) place to live.
eat pizza and play guitar
Going out to dinner and a B-day party for the SIL tonight. If it is a nice as they say it will be I will get some yard work done, take down the last of the Xmas lights, slow cook a chili and take a nice walk in the woods. Definitely put in a few hours jammin out through my new Marshall guitar amp!
Lay in bed a read while I recover from a horrible case of strep.
I’ll be working on a proposal that is due 2/1. It will be a looong weekend.
Sleep, cook, wash laundry and dishes, watch television and play on the computer. jealous?
I have to drive to Alameda and get back home before the rush hour nightmare this afternoon. I then plan to hide in the house from the rain and bake cookies while past seasons of Downton Abbey drone insufferably in the background. Nothing compares with the glories of standing at the window gazing down as sheets of rain mangle foolish pedestrians and their pitiful umbrellas while snooty English accents and heavenly aromas wash over my nice dry oven warmed back.
Tonight going out with the moms from school. I don’t know them that well but I want to be a team player. Tomorrow maybe movies (Joy is one I want to see, and there’s also The Big Short about Wall St).
Sunday going to NYC with the fam to see “Wicked” on Broadway. Then probably dinner down there. Very excited about that.
Housework
Work brought home
Bit of time with dog
Then comatose under a warm blanket. Wish I could put myself into a real coma for a couple of months.
Staying out of the rain on Saturday, lounging on Sunday. And, HEY! There’s a golf tournament on BOTH DAYS!!!
Work out, watch footy, do golf, sex, repeat.
@LuckyGuy I’m going to try to be the lucky gay this weekend.
I’m hanging out with my best friend tonight to do some crafty things.
Going to get a nice dinner out tomorrow with my boyfriend and another couple we are good friends with.
Then after all that pleasant stuff, I get to spend the day Sunday fasting and prepping for (the colonless version of) a colonoscopy!
Woooooo
As little as possible. It’s the last weekend before I go back to work (officially). So I’m going to read novels, go to lunch, watch the ocean. We’re having a short break on an island close to Brisbane. I can hear the wind in the trees, watch dolphins playing and listen to the water lapping against the rocks. I’m just going go savour the peace and quiet.
@jca, I’ve seen Joy. I liked it. And I LOVED Wicked! I hope you have a ball. We so enjoyed seeing Wicked on Broadway. I hope I’ll make it back to New York one day so we can see something else.
And yes, it’s been a nice few days. We came over on Wednesday.
Probably going to see my friends’ blues band tonight if I can motivate myself to get out the door. Tomorrow, a workshop on examining your own racial prejudices at UU and then Sunday, UU service, then going to the Oscar nominated animated short films with my friend Dan. Oh – and sleep.
I get to make sure my MIL doesn’t get too much sleep, then take her in for an EEG first thing in the morning. If that doesn’t run too long, I’ll be going to a concert tomorrow afternoon.
Youtube and searching for my drivers license. Cleaning my apartment.
Found it. It was In my wallet. I cleaned my apartment looking for it. Well my weekend is done.
My sister is getting married tomorrow. So I will be babysitting her twins tomorrow and Sunday while they are on their honeymoon.
Enjoy the first day of my holiday. New Year’s Eve has just started.
Barely know the guy. I have only met him twice. He seems nice enough.
I’m just stoked because I have been paying for her internet connection for a while and when she is married they better start paying that bill.
But they have been living together for a while and I trust my sisters judgment.
I probably had my fun for the weekend when I at at the delicious Indian buffet today for lunch. Still stuffed 6 hours later!
Saturday will probably be a bit of laundry, a bit of shopping, and Sunday is work day.
Working late tonight for a maintenance window. Will be moving clutter out of the house to a storage unit tomorrow so we can get it on the market and hopefully sold.
Tomorrow is my birthday and my friends are taking me out :D
Ok I don’t feel so bad. My weekend is about the same as everyone else’s. Closest match is @dammitjanetfromvegas
Today it’s a tossup between Joy and The Big Short. Then I may take myself to Panera and then come home and organize stuff in my daughter’s room.
—The Big Short is much better.—-
Big Short is playing at 10:30 this morning which will get me out and back in due time to do some stuff around the house. Joy, at the one theater where it’s still playing, is not till 6:30 tonight, so it looks like it’s going to be The Big Short.
Baby sitting Chris’ kids today, celebrating twins birthday tomorrow. Can’t believe they’ll be 3.
@jca Yesterday we did some embroidery. We switch it up! One of our most fun adventures was a few months ago when we scoured the city for the perfect plant store, bought all the supplies, and then made a mess of my sunroom making terrariums. It was great fun. Here’s mine! I’m lucky to have such a good friend in my city, with creative interests like mine. :)
Have appointment with dentist tomorrow..looking forward to that.
Heading down now to see Atheist, Corrosion of Conformity, and a few others at the Florida Metal Fest, held at the Cuban Club in Ybor City.
I’m designated driver tonight, which is just fine by me.
I am working today, and then I’m going to go into a coma for all of Sunday.
Almost hit a deer. And THAT was the most exciting thing to happen to me on a Saturday night in a long time.
Update: I really liked The Big Short a lot.
I have bronchitis so I’m staying home for today.
How did y’all’s weekends turn out?
Me, well I’m nearly done with the embroidery project I started with my buddy on Friday, I got a delicious meal in the city on Saturday, and then fasted all day yesterday for the pouchoscopy – read some Harry Potter and watched Inside Out because I regress into a child when going through medical tests – woke up this morning and absolutely could not get myself to the hospital on public transportation – I underestimated how weak and faint I would feel – so Matt drove me in. The doc didn’t see anything concerning up inside my guts! Now I can eat and rest up. All’s well.
The second (or third if you count Sunday) day of my holiday. The book I write has progressed a lot, although I occasionally had to get over the feeling that I suck throughout the time. I got invited for handout from some friends. I had time for recreational activities that I couldn’t do during school time. But what’s really pisses me off is the school project the teacher handed down. We are supposed to get everything complete next month. Because of that I have to get over the guilty feeling when I’m enjoying myself. Why can’t I just have a worry-free holiday?
I loved The Big Short.
Sunday we went to the city (NYC) and saw Wicked and then spent the evening with family who lives there. It was a tiring day but a fun day.
I just got an email saying we have $10 movie tickets for February. There are four films I want to see and The Big Short is one of them. Glad you had a fun day @jca. I think I have a photography course on this weekend. I’ll have to check my calendar.
Mission not accomplished.
It’s only Monday but I’m really looking forward to this coming weekend. My favorite team since 1987 will be in the Super Bowl. I’m going with my husband and youngest adult son (designated driver) to a sports bar to watch the game. Go Broncos!
@dxs keep looking, something has to turn up.
@Stinley It’s been a year. I’m growing hopeless at this point.
We submitted the proposal 13 minutes ahead of the closing time. WHEW!
It is a thing of beauty.
Now we wait until late April to see it we are selected..
I’m going to see the film Spotlight. And on Sunday I’m going on a photography course at the zoo.
Going to see Thing 2! On the plane.
I’m busy this weekend taking a bunch of girl guides (scouts) to a swimming competition on Saturday. It’s supposed to be just for fun but I’m feeling super competitive about it. We can sweep the board, I’m sure of it!
@janbb where are you going on the plane?
I’m looking forward to watching Saturday Night Live tonight. Larry David will be hosting. He’s made a couple appearances on the show this season playing the role of Bernie Sanders. Tonight Bernie Sanders will make an appearance on the show. I can’t wait!
I just saw the movie “Room” last night. Excellent, gripping movie. I was kind of afraid it would be traumatizing. I don’t like seeing people get beat up or anything like that, but it wasn’t like that. It was suspenseful and very moving.
Finished all New Year preparation and now waiting for tonight’s fireworks. Last night when we were doing one last shopping when, damn, the depression came back! It was so sudden that it almost immobilized me. I managed to hide it from my family, but I guess I appeared silly in front of them a couple of times. Luckily I had the whole night to ease the feeling. I’m back to normal now.
Painting, cleaning, raking.
I’m in Victoria, BC with my son and his GF visiting my nephew and his family.
@jca I think “Room” was my favorite movie of last year.
@janbb: For me, it’s a tossup between “Brooklyn” and “Room.” Two very different movies, coincidentally both with strong female characters. I would be happy if either one won the Oscar, although maybe just a tad happier about the actress from “Room” since she’s the underdog.
Well, I’m finally breaking down and moving into the 21st century. Today (Sunday) we’re going to buy a lap top, which I’ve always wanted, but it seemed such an unnecessary expense, and smart phone, I phone, whatever, which I always wanted but it seemed so frivolous.
But I need both of those for my new job.
I have been at an event all day in London with the girl guides (scouts) I help with. We had fun trying all the activities like zorbing, bunjy trampolining, laser maze. My favourite thing was changing the wheel on a car in a team. We were second on the leaderboard!!
