Does the age of a webcam affect how much it distorts your voice?

My computer is about 10 years old, so would that distort someone’s voice more than a new computer?

No, the microphone quality will affect the quality. Obviously if the newer computer has a better quality mic, it will provide better sound quality.

New computers comes with new graphic card and other technologies so they will provide better sound quality
