Garment steamers. Do you have one at home?

Asked by jessikavel (5points) March 1st, 2016

Is this really a necessary thing to have?
I have a lot of clothes that need to be ironed, but it is a very time-consuming process. So, will this device save my time??
I heard that it can be used even for cornices.

I don’t have or need one. If something really needs to be ironed, get it done at the cleaners. Steaming doesn’t iron, it is just as effective to have it hanging in the bathroom while taking a hot shower.

We have one and they are indeed a time saver for straightening out minor wrinkles on garments.

I used to have one that my mother gave me for christmas one year. I think I may have used it twice before I sold it in a garage sale. This was during my jeans/t-shirt period and crisp, clean shirts and pressed pants were not a priority.

I met a lady in the Costco parking lot and she just had purchased one. She told me how great it was. They had a special price around Christmastime. She said they remove wrinkles so easily and so quickly.

I have one. I do not have an iron. I use it a only couple of times a year, but am very happy to have one.

I read this early this morning as “garlic steamers” and thought, “Who wants to steam garlic?”

I used to have one. I used to fill it with vinegar water and used it to clean my couches. It was great for taking the puppy smell out.

I don’t have one, but since I have a lot of dresses that are fiddly to iron, I’d like one.

My ex had one. We rarely used the iron, the steamer worked just as well for everything but sharp creases.

I have a small one for travel. I recommend getting a large one similar to what is used in retail stores. The small ones don’t produce enough steam to be considered a time saver. The large ones are great. I worked retail for years and a quick steam is much easier than ironing.

I don’t have one but I’ve heard keeping your clothes in the bathroom while taking a hot shower will remove wrinkles.
