What are these red/pink/maroon-ish worms floating in my whirlpool tub? There's always a spa tab or two in the tub and it's kept covered when not in use.

We used it last weekend and it rained Monday onwards. There’s been a tablet always in the tub and it’s been covered though rain water does get in side as it’s just cover from leaves etc. Please help. Are these worms dangerous?

You can’t attach a picture to a post, but you can link to one. Upload your picture to a photo sharing site like imgur or Photobucket, then post a link to it here.
@syz do you think these look like blood worms?
@Coloma do you think it’s similar worms/larvae?
@Neeti The ones I had were tiny little red worms, maybe a half to 1 inch long and thin, like a strand of angel hair pasta. Google aquatic worms and see if you can find a species resembling yours, there are a bunch of them.
The pictures you have look like they are segmented where the ones I found seemed to be just some little species of red aquatic worms that resembled tiny earthworms.
@Coloma so I did some research and I am kinda lost. It could be bloodworms or something else. There’s always a spa tablet or two in the tub to keep it clean. It’s just been pouring these days and I figure the rains got them there :/
The tub stays covered but only God knows how these tiny monsters got in.
Is there a way to keep them away? Do you think they’re dangerous? Also, in the pictures, the darker shapes are like their shell that these tiny worms/larvae wriggled out of. That’s what tells us that the bodies are segmented. Thanks a lot
@Neeti They could be Mayfly larvae or something like that as well, or even mosquito larvae. I doubt they are dangerous, as long as you don’t eat them. lol
Just another little mystery of nature. I never exactly identified the ones in my tub either.
Mildly chlorinated water doesn’t effect a lot of things. I used to have gazillions of little pacific tree frogs that would get under the flaps of the spa cover to stay warm and I had to be really careful to search for them or they would leap into the water and boil themselves alive. One night I went out after heating the hot tub and flipped the cover over and climbed in and a few minutes later a dead frog bubbled up under my chin. haha I wouldn’t worry about it, just drain and clean the spa and keep an eye out.
