On a radio app, there a way to enhance reception and still use Bluetooth?

Asked by Strauss (23835points) March 13th, 2016

It’s a Microsoft Lumia running Windows 8.1. There’s a small independent community station that plays a very eclectic mix, that pretty much suits my tastes in music. When I have Wi-fi available, I can listen through their website; when I’m not near a hotspot, I can usually pick it up with the radio app, but it uses the headset for the antenna, which automatically turns off the Bluetooth. Is there a way to enhance reception and still use the Bluetooth?

I can’t think of any way off the top of my head, but I have been known to use a cable to connect to the input jack on my Bluetooth speaker if for no reason other than to triple the battery life on the speaker. Before Bluetooth and smartphones, I’d use external speakers on a Walkman which likewise used the speaker cord as an antenna.
