Once in a blue Fluther moon I ask others to share their face, but for a brief moment in time. Care to share your face to give us Jellies a gander at your mug for a moment of posterity?
Here I am, having a good ol’ time at a street bar in Hualien Taiwan a few years ago. Be brave, be bold, let us steal your face for a moment.

@Coloma at least you don’t look 70. No, really! And you look like someone I can join the fun there with :)
I have the idea of showing some of my photos here, but I don’t think it’s time yet, and I’m a bit afraid of my photos leaking out elsewhere. Maybe I’ll give you my… graduation photos after my graduation day?
Sure, why not.
Here I am, right now, in my kitchen, wearing my Red Hot Chili Peppers , BloodSugarSexMagik shirt.
I accidentally bleached it while cleaning the bathroom, so I cut off the bleached bits and turned it into a backless halter tank. That happened about ten minutes ago.
@Mimishu1995 Haha, I am not 70, I am 56. lol Please do share a grad photo, you’re safe here. :-)
@Seek You are so perfectly you. Just a darling. Force to be reckoned with, haha
@Pachy Haha..a handsome Pachyderm you be.
All right, I will, but just for half an hour. Stand by: this was me dressed up for Halloween one night a very long time ago.
<———-
Oh, just for fun, @Coloma – Here is a small sampling of the flock of geese that live up the road.
@Seek, that picture is probably nearly twice as old as you are. I assure you that those looks are long gone (and when I had them, I honestly didn’t know it). My only consolation these days when I look at the turkey wattles is that if money could solve that problem, neither Donald nor Hillary would have them.
@Jeruba Great picture, you remind me of someone….???
@Seek Awww…the first couple are Embdens, then looks like a white African with the wattle and a couple of brown and white Chinese. Quite the ethnically diverse flock.
Ok, that’s it, gone now. Bye bye.
@Jeruba The phantom of fluther. haha
Haha I just took this with my phone
Is mine blurry? I’m trying to do this on my phone and I don’t have my reading glasses.
Coloma we are the same age!
All of you are a fun bunch of great lookers!
This is me when I was about five. My first school photo!
Alright, here you go.
This is me a month ago, when I was having fun with my friends in a park.
Promise me you won’t leak it outside of this place OK? :)
@jca I know! Not so cute now though. I never imagined you as blonde though
@Mimishu1995. Now, that’s what I call cute. I love your glasses. I imagined you had glasses
@Mimishu1995 – you look so pensive and intellectual. And the red really suits you!
Hah…this is great you guys! I got to wake up to your faces!
@jca I too pictured you with dark hair for some reason, funny how we make things up in our minds. Nice picture.
@Mimishu1995 Love the Kimono outfit and your glasses too, thanks for sharing, cute!
@Stinley Awww….
@cookieman Great face ya have there. :-)
@trailsillustrated Nice picture, I just cut my hair shorter recently.
@dammitjanetfromvegas Awesome, you look like Janis Joplin! haha
I’ll do it tomorrow, I promise. You’re some great looking Jellies.
@Jeruba No fair! I didn’t get to see!
Certainly a good looking bunch of jellies.
You are all so attractive! Me, last month.
@augustlan Noce to see you! You have a great smile! :-D
@augustlan Wait…that’s right, I was trying to pin point what looked different about you, and I think you had a pic somewhere in the mod blog or something once and your hair was more red!
Yeah, it’s over 50% grey at this point, so it reads blonde now. Not that there’s anything wrong with being blonde, it’s just not the ‘me’ I’m used to!
<- can’t believe I’m doing this. will probably remove it shortly.
@DoNotKnowMuch You look just like a friend of mine, uncanny resemblance!
Fear not, soon your face will fade into oblivion as all the rest. I usually leave mine up when I ask these questions, for a couple days, then fade into obscurity again.
It’s fun to see each other. :)
@ARE_you_kidding_me Nice photos, you look like a nice guy, and..I thought you were a women. haha
Again, those weird mental pictures we frame based on nothing substantial.
@Coloma really? Even when I whine about women so much lol.
@johnpowell Oh wow..I missed your face. A nice face it is, a bit serious, but I figure you are a serious kinda guy. lol
@dxs It’s tomorrow now. ;-)
We thought @jca had dark hair because her cat has dark hair.
Maybe I’ll put mine back up for a little while tonight. We’ll see.
I took my beanie off.
I’ve seen many of your faces before, but I thought I’d never see Mimi’s or Tom’s. This is fun.
It is really fun to see everyone! So, okay, here’s me at breakfast with former roommates (I cropped it so it’s just me).
@Jeruba Please do put it back up. I missed it.
My avatar is usually me anyway so this isn’t too exciting, but here I am today cozied up and working on my taxes. This question was nicely timed as I just got my hair cut yesterday.
@Mariah Cute as a button, but of course. :-)
@chyna I didn’t picture you having such large jowls and soulful eyes. lol
@Coloma aw thanks! Mais non, je ne suis pas francaise—that’s about as much French as I can do, and I’m not totally sure that it’s even “correct” .... California born and raised!
@Soubresaut CA. girl here too, well CA. mountain mama. haha
Ok, for 24 hours only. I’m at a crafts fair, selling my jewelry.
@chyna Yay…you look awesome, love the hat! :-)
My avatar is an actual picture of me, which I update monthly. But here is a full size picture of me, in Cafe Aroma.
@NerdyKeith You’re a cutie too, you look like a Priest to me. It must be the black shirt and collar. haha
Okay, I’ve joked about it before, but now I really want to sleep with all of you.
@Coloma lol I don’t think I’d make a good priest haha. But thanks for telling me I’m cute, very flattered ;)
All right, half an hour. It’s 4:58 by my clock.
Some very pretty ladies here.
Damn @Jeruba I missed it again! It looks like by 4 minutes!
I changed mine since it was a little blurry. This one is me and Jessie.
@NerdyKeith So, no confession booth hanky panky for you then.lol
@Jeruba Love it!
@chyna.. Oh wow…up close you look remarkably like my friend Jane in real life. Great pic.
I’m feeling like this is a Fluther offline meeting :D
@NerdyKeith Did that sound a little too weird, sorry. haha Okay, let me try to explain….then again, I’ll probably just make it worse, stuff my foot beyond my mouth, way down throat blocking airway. lol
Am I the only one who didn’t think of cropping my face? But then again the photo looks better in its context. And beside it was just me.
@cookieman now that I think about it… We would need this soundtrack if you wanted to sleep with me :p
@Mimishu1995: Good choice. It’s very relaxi…in…zzz zzzZZZ ZZZZZZ
@Coloma Dont worry I appreciate a quirky sense of humor haha
@Coloma
Archery in the 1996 Summer Olympics.
@Coloma
They really are Olympic gold medals, but they were won by Justin Huish.
I’m pretending to buy them from his mother, whose arm is on the left side of my avatar photo. ;-p
@SQUEEKY2 I KNEW you had a beard. I could tell. I like your twinkly eyes!
OK.. here it comes.. remember you asked for it!
^You have a lot of face hair.
I’m the one on the left. The other is my bride of gonna be 30 years in September. Mine to annoy ‘til death do us part.
@majorrich Great photo, you look like a fun loving ham. haha
this was on a particularly hot afternoon on our vacation through Joshua Tree National park.
I see @janbb’s face circulating about but not here yet. Oooh Jaaaaan….where for art thou Jan?
Showeth your face.
@ZEPHYRA aw shucks! :)
It’s lovely to see all you dapper jellies!
@Adagio You look like me from behind in the late 70’s. Aaah…memories. haha—
Here is me. My mohawk is hiding and I didn’t realize how difficult it was to take a selfie.
@dxs oh yeah! You look much cooler than I imagined. Like a guitar player. And I didn’t know you have beard.
@dxs Yes. you look like I pictured and..you look just like a young friend of mine named ’ Taylor” that is really into clay work, pottery, sculpture. Thanks for sharing your face!
I’m up! Hey @Coloma we both seem to prefer pictures that are taken from afar, or, in my case, a leetle bit blurry! LOL! I don’t do selfies, do you?
Faces still happening? I definitely am not good at picturing people. I imagine people looking much different. It’s nice to be proven wrong
^hah! I didn’t miss yours this time!
What did you think I looked like @DoNotKnowMuch?
@Coloma, ah, the old “Hiding behind the tree” picture….I got one of those too! Hang on…
@Dutchess_III: “What did you think I looked like @DoNotKnowMuch?”
I’m not sure. But it’s nice to put a human face to all of these anonymous accounts. Everyone looks so….human. In a good way. :)
Ah. You thought we were all hobbits!
I’m short enough to be a hobbit. kind of
@dxs ooh mohawk? Could we see? :)
The thing about little people? Often overlooked.
Meaning they can get away with things, right? Same with old guys. Or old women, anyway.
Almost time to take my face back, but here is one more, my friend and I ( I’m on the left in the wacky shades ) hamming it up in one of the local vineyards.
And here is a more recent picture of me, taken at home
@NerdyKeith You’re so damn cute, but, you’re gay and I am probably too old for you anyway. lol
@Coloma Awe well thank you so much. I always appreciate a compliment ;) hehe
You, sir, are a crime against the gene pool.
Seriously though, you’re a looker.
Awe thanks, you’re very sweet :)
Man, we need a really big hotel room here huh? lol
You know what @NerdyKeith? You don’t even look like a gay at all. Or at least you don’t look like the stereotyped one. And you don’t even seem to try to look straight.
I’m just sitting here eating my Chips Ahoy.
You need to look more like this
@ragingloli He looks like a manager in my job. Although he doesn’t wear a multicolored suit haha.
@NerdyKeith I think we have ancestors in common, not too far up the family tree! Here is a picture of my daughter. Does anyone else see the resemblance?
@Stinley She looks a bit like one of my nieces (my cousin’s daughter)
@NerdyKeith I have an Irish grandfather and 4 Irish great grandparents on the other side too. I have the dark hair and blue eyes. It was the eyebrows, eyelashes and big eyes that struck me as being like you.
I’ve got a wee bit o’ Irish blood meself, but mostly Scottish/Welsh.
We had Irish friends for years, oh those bloody mary and soda bread breakfasts. haha
Soda bread! I love soda bread
@Stinley Ah I see. Although my own eyes are a mixture of brown with some green in them. I’m the only one in my family with eyes like that. You won’t be able to notice that in my picture, due to the lighting.
I’ve a wee bit of Irish in me, too. haha.
My father was adopted, so we had my brother do one of those DNA evaluations for health screening and such. We’re pretty much 100% Irish/Viking ancestry, down to the ridiculously Ireland-specific Y chromosome haplogroup R1b1b2a1a2f2
Also we have the gene for alcoholism, so there’s that.
@Seek Were you the poor little red haired step child? lol
Ha! Nope, the little blonde-haired one.
My dad used to say the only thing he remembered about his mom (he was adopted when he was five) was that she had red hair. I felt genetics cheated me, so I fixed it.
What happened to his mom, @Seek?
No clue. Don’t know their names, don’t know what happened. Anyone who did know is dead or missing. That’s why we had the DNA thing done, so at least we’d know if there were any time-bomb genetic illnesses in the family.
<——— Here’s me at 3. Dig the pompadour hairdo, thanks mom, little egg headed me. lol
23&me found I had the gene for addiction too. Good info to arm yourself with. I was happy to find I was GG for the foxo3a gene. Pretty much told me I’m anglo-saxon
@Coloma Awww… I don’t know if I have any pictures of me that young. In the teddy bear pic I was ten – fifth grade. I know because I won the teddy bear from a pile of prizes for reading the most books in the class in three months. _
Here I am as a little cutie
Thank you Seek! On facebook my daughter started posting side by sides of me and her youngest daughter. I took it further and included my daughter’s picture. It was uncanny, but cool!
@jca I just got it done too. They’re doing a study on IBD so lucky folks like me get their test for free. Honestly, unless you’re unsure about your ethnic background and want to know more, or want to know if you have genetic markers for a bunch of obscure diseases, it’s not super worth it in my opinion. The majority of what they found about me was just them seeing if they could guess things about me based on my genes that I already know – based on your genes we think you probably have light eyes! Things like that.
@jca – My brother did the 23andMe thing. It was expensive, ($99 when we did it) so we had my brother do it since he carries the Y chromosome. That way we could get more specific information about our paternal line.
I’m linking to an imgur album with some screenshots from my brother’s account. It tells things like whether you’re at an increased risk for heart disease or gallstones or whether you may be resistant to some medications, how much Neanderthal DNA you have (slightly more than average!). One of the interesting things if you’re into genealogy is that it matches up people who share genetic markers. So it’s one way to find long-lost or distant family members. And of course it gives you the raw genetic data if you’re into that sort of thing.
I think we squeezed in before the FDA put the kibosh on some of the medical reports, though.
I got in under the wire too but honestly they seem to be taking some liberties with their health interpretation. You can download the raw data and upload it to promethease. You get a very detailed report for$5 you can do that without having the 23&me health info too
Well, my grandfather died young of a heart attack and every member of my family over the age of 25 has had their gallbladder removed, and my brother is bipolar, so they got those interpretations right at least. Haha.
I have literally zero interest in my “ancestry”.
I don’t, either. We did it because of the medical thing. Making sure we weren’t carriers for Huntington’s or something before we decided to breed.
I did the nationality DNA stuff with Ancestry.com and it was interesting. I’ll check your info above about the 23 and Me and look into it. I was hoping they’d have a cyber Monday special or something, which would be an incentive. I did the Ancestry.com with a cyber Monday special and it was fun to see the results.
I don’t know why they went up in price but my mothers doc had her do 23&me and they still did not include the health info. It’s there in the raw data you just don’t get their fancy interpretation. You can do a lot of cool stuff with the raw data. There will be some gee whiz stuff you find out. Said I was in the 99th percentile for neanderthal dna. Totally meaningless but neat.
I want to do that. Maybe I’ll have s’mores in my dna like @Seek‘s brother does. That would be so cool.
I’ll change up my face now for a springy picture of Marwyn swimming in his pool.
This has been a fun thread!
We should do the “say the word” game again. We’re having an interesting conversation about grammatical/word differences between UK and USA English in another thread.
I was just thinking we needed another accent video thread.
I’m in! As long as you guys can keep my voice from leaking out.
@Mimishu1995, don’t post anything you’re worried about. Anyone in the world who has Internet access can get in here, and none of us can protect you from anything. It feels so private when you’re alone and typing at your computer, but it isn’t.
Personally, I’m quite liberal with sharing pictures of my on the internet. There’s already a ton of them on Facebook, Twitter and I make videos on YouTube.
#stalking
You’re easy to find, too! Dammit, why aren’t my new speakers in yet? Come on, Amazon!
Well it has been a while since I’ve shared a selphie. So here ya go!
@Cruiser Don’t est that yellow snow bro.
@Coloma Getting dressed to head on over to St. Alphonso’s pancake breakfast.
My favorite Frank Zappa line (talking about Catholic girls): “At the C.Y.O, where they learn to blow.” Hahaha.
@dxs Haha…there are some crazy mohawks in those pictures.
@Cruiser Yummy, pancakes, have fun!
@jca LOL
<——- Here’s my gorgeous daughter, but for a little while. Yep, I’m a proud mama. eat your heart out boys, she’s taken. lol
She has a lot of spots. Sure she’s okay?
@dxs LOL, Just call her Spot. Hang on, I’ll resurrect her again. haha
@dxs Are you still there. hurry, hurry, it’s a limited offer. haha
@Coloma somehow she reminds me of AshLeigh. Is she into goth too?
@Mimishu1995 A little but she now has a professional job so the piercings are out. haha
Hah I thought of @AshLeigh when I saw her, too.
@Coloma I tried for ten minutes last night to get the link from imgur so I could share a pic of my daughter but I couldn’t get it to work. Now I’ll look like a copycat. lol
Mine has been my two for a while. They are wearing berets
@Stinley Haha, well she is a tall “little” darling then. Seriously beautiful girls. :-)
@Coloma thank you. I think so too :-)
My girl. She’s in 6th grade and just dyed her hair red.
@dammitjanetfromvegas Haha, she’s cute, with the Raggedy Ann red hair.
Yeah, my daughter was in 6th grade too when she started wanting to dye her hair. There was red, green, purple, blue, rainbow head kid. lol
Um…@Coloma, your daughter has chicken pox. Just sayin’.
@Dutchess_IIII know, @dxs said the same thing last night, so I changed back to her picture but then, figured everyone had time to see her before I stole her face back.
@Mimishu1995 I’ve always wondered what you looked like. Very nice to be able to put a face to a name now! :)
I wish I’d known about this when it was originally posted. I always like seeing Jellies.
This is the most up to date pic of me. Basically a bigger pic of my profile pic
Any more faces that would like to share a quickie mugshot?
Well its been quite a few months since I’ve shared a selfie on Fluther. So here is a more recent snap.
@NerdyKeith I think it’s time to change your name. Nothing Nerdy about you!
Outside that nerdy interior lies a handsome guy. haha
@chyna depends on your definition of “nerdy”. I like to see being nerdy as an aspect of caring about gaining knowledge and having a love for knowledge. That to me is nerdy!
@Coloma Oh thank you so much, you are very sweet!
@NerdyKeith and knowing lots of useless trivia too. haha
@Coloma Well yes that is common trait of nerds (and aspies mind you). My knowledge of Star Trek for example is fairly extensive.
