I have taken a lot of risk in my life. I may not look like it but I’m a risk taker. The risks can get me into hot water sometimes, but I generally gain more than lose. Maybe it’s because I often think carefully before I take any risk and draw my plan for the risk. When I lose from the risk, most of the time it’s because I have to choose immediately without much thinking.

More than I would like to admit. Less and less as I get older.

I’m very cautious about some things, and other times I’m impulsive to the point of rashness. Both feel right at the time.

The irony is that playing it safe doesn’t actually make you safe.

If it is a risk that I feel I can manage then bring it on.
I am not into fool hardy risks, I won’t run through the streets of Bagdad saying Muslims suck.
Or yell black people aint to bright on the streets of the Bronx.
Or Republicans are bat shit crazy at a Trump convention.
But if the risk has rewards that can benefit myself and Mrs Squeeky then I am all for it.

In some ways yes, in other ways no. I’ve taken lots of risks in my life. Calculated risks, but risks nonetheless. I still do and will take risks if I feel they will help me to grow and learn.

I take some risks. I moved to a new city on a new island last summer to start a new job. That was a risk. I’m happy with the result. I live with more stress now, but it’s okay.

I’m going to audition for a play this week. It’s a risk, but I want to meet new people and make friends in my new city. I hope it will be worth it.

I’m not too risky, though. I don’t do things I regard as foolhardy.

I take reasonable risks.

What is life without an element of risk? I am mostly cautious by nature but I do take risks at times however I try to ensure I have a fallback position so if things go wrong it is not a complete disaster. I have made a few serious mistakes in my life but they have been interesting ones that I don’t even regret.

I am risk averse for sure and I will not take a risk where I am likely to fail. However I think I appear to have more risk taking behaviour because I have very fast and good risk assessment skills. I have no idea how I got good at this apart from the fact that I got a lot better at risk assessment after my children were born; I suppose I practiced a lot.
